Absolutely fabulous photos, Suzanne! The winter is the best time to photograph lights when there are no people in your way to get the shots you want.

Thanks for sharing!

BRILLIANT ... applaud
What is it about lighthouses with ice and snow? They look fabulous!
Thanks for showing those fantastic pictures Suzanne! And thanks for naming the lights. That is a great help for us on the other side of the pond!

Very nice Suzanne. How cold was it in Door County? Are you planning any WILD trips for this summer?

It was 19 degrees, but very windy at several locations. I don't know what the wind chill was. Photos were taken wearing thick gloves. Notice the waves in the Sturgeon Bay North pier shot. At Sturgeon Bay the wind made it so cold, at times I couldn't get my fingers to push the shutter.

We were planning a Lake Winnebago lighthouse boat trip, but we will probably have to cancel that now.

Awesome photos, Suzanne!

I suggested we wander up there last weekend, but my hubby whined that it was too cold! I would love to get some ice and snow shots to add to my albums.
I really, really like the shot of the North pierhead.
Thanks so much for freezing your butt off and sharing these! smile

Suzanne, Great pictures. Absolutely LOVE the Sturgeon Bay North Pierhead picture with the waves and interesting clouds in the background too.

The sunset picture would fit right in with the Colorado landscape.

Thanks for braving the elements and sharing the results.

Suzanne, It looks like they painted two rivers, maybe last summer?? it also looks like they took the year-around Christmas lights down (I hope so, it looked odd with the Christmas lights in the summer)

Fabulous photos as usual, Suzanne! The only problem with photographing lights in the winter is trying to keep the camera steady when you are freezing to death and shaking like crazy!

I tried to photograph lights one time in Cleveland and was never so cold in my life! It does make for an adventure.

Suzanne,

How did you get the shot of Old Bailey's Harbor light? I thouhgt that the only way that you could get a close shot was from the water?

It looks like there is ice between you and the light. Did you walk out somewhere on the ice?

That shot is actually from the parking lot at the end of the road. It was taken with a 420mm zoom lens. One can walk to the end of the land also and get the same shot. There was ice, so one might have been able to walk over to the island.

WOW SUZANNE!!! GREAT PICTURES!!!

You've got the makings of a beautiful calendar with these shots. My favorites...Cana Island and Sturgeon Bay Canal with the reflection.

Thanks for braving the elements to get these!

Wow Suzanne, great photos. I visited many of those lights last summer after the WILD trip. I would love to visit them in the winter, but I cann't take that cold weather, that's why I live in Florida. laugh

Nice photo's. The one with the open water and the skaters seems a bit crazy.

Very beautiful pictures and thanks for sharing them. The winter conditions sure added a special extra touch to the lighthouses.

Suzanne,

Thank you for the wonderful Wisconsin Lighthouse pictures. I especially like Old Bailey's Harbor. Somehow, Linda and I missed that one during our trip to Mackinaw for the reuinion.

Superb photos, Suzanne. I know what it takes to get winter photos. Before I was interested in lighthouses my hobby was photography and I remember taking photos in Vermont in February with the temp -20 F. Thank goodness there was no wind. All of your shots show excellent composition, exposure and choice of subject. lets see more.
