I just bought my daughter a Canon G2 digital camera for her college graduation. Her fiance is leaving Saturday to study in Santiago, Chile for one month. She is letting him take her new camera.

My question is charging the battery. It uses an AC plug in charger where it charges the battery while the battery is still in the camera. Has anyone used an AC adapter for different voltage other than 110? We are worried about "frying" a brand new camera if the adapter doesn't work properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a page with the information you need. If the voltage is 220, you'll need a step down converter. Some plugs are not like the familiar flat-blade kind in the US, you may need an adapter plug:
