Tim, your pictures are great. I like the one of the flag very much, it is very much appreciated. Of course the light at Sturgeon Point is also very nice. I guess from your comment that the light will be closed until spring.

Interestingly, the lens in this lighthouse appears to have been transplanted from this lighthouse! smile

Is there another lighthouse at Sturgeon Point? Or is this taken from another view of the one I've seen in Gary's super sunrise and sunset photos of Sturgeon Point?

This is Sturgeon Point in Harrisville Michigan. Gary was shooting photos in Door County Wisconsin of Sturgeon Bay Canal and the Sturgeon Bay Canal Pierhead Light.

I've shot Sturgeon Point on Lake Huron too, John, but not recently. The last time I was there was in April, 2001, but there's a chance that I may end up over that direction next weekend for my wife to attend a quilter's workshop (she's a professional quilter). In any case, here are a couple more shots of Sturgeon Point. Thse first shots were taken in the daytime...

Lake Huron, however, is known as the "Sunrise Side" which is proclaimed frequently on every sort of roadsign imaginable as you drive along the Lake Huron shore. That said, I have to include some sunrise shots of Sturgeon Point. this first shot was taken in the predawn...

and a little later that morning...

I'm not sure what I'll get next weekend if I shoot at Sturgeon Point. There is also a chance that instead I'll be shooting Pointe aux Barques. In either case, it will be in the afternoon, so we'll see what happens and what I might get.

Gary
