NAME THE FLAME PIC GAME "02 Round 2 May thru August

ONLY 5 WEEKS LEFT IN ROUND 2

Below is today's Light picture to be named.
Here's a brief list of guidelines that will be used.
1. Every Thursday (usually in PM EST) a new light-puzzle will be presented, barring problems.
2. The light(s) may be from anywhere in the world.
3. Please limit guesses to 1/person/day
4. A hint may be provided every day starting on the 2nd day.
5. I will keep/post the running scores.
6. Scoring will be by points assigned for difficulty (1-5 usually), and placement. For
example, on a 5 point puzzle the following five levels will be awarded:
5 pts – 1st correct answer, 4 pts – 2nd, 3 pts – 3 rd, 2 pts – 4 th, 1 pts – 5th
For a 4 point puzzle there will be 4 levels awarded, etc.
7. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS ! Email your guesses with the Part # (eg # 64) from the solved jigsaw puzzle.

8. Your input (please!) with photos ENCOURAGED appreciated, and acknowledged when used.

9. Multiple games all at once this week. There are 5 to do ,each @ Xpoints for 1st, x-1 pts for 2nd etc. You may do them in any order, you may do as many or as few as you wish. This week there are a total 61 points available!! Nobody can do them all at once!! (I'll keep track scoring of this nightmare!! LOL

Download this week's (Round 2, Week 12)multiple parts:

NTFG#75 5 pts
NTFG#76 5 pts
NTFG#77 5 pts
NTFG#78 3 pts
NTFG#79 4 pts

Only 1guess per part/day.

Once you have downloaded the game, just doubleclick on the exe file and start the STANDALONE VERSION. Remember, that solving the puzzle isn't by any means the end - you've got to use the completed puzzle as clues to figure which LH it is.
But of course, you can't win the game until you solve the jigsaw puzzle.
Right click on puzzle pieces to rotate them. Move them together and if you are right, they will stick together.

Current Overall scores:
Current Overall scores:
Larry – 87
T&J Abbott – 81
DMAncini – 49
Harbourfan – 13
Mombo – 11
Derith - 8
Oseabee - 3
JC Rice – 3
Pharologst - 18 (I get all unclaimed, and there are 61 ppints this week!)

 A distinct lack of activity thus far, hum....., maybe clues are in order?

Four continents are here, two in the northern hemisphere, and the other two in the southern hemisphere.

Still working on it here, George. Just haven't had a ton of time. I have one of the six I'm still missing. So now I'm missing two continents and two countries.

Anyway, where are my six points for 78 & 79? :p

We'll try to send in a few guesses. We were at the Abbott family reunion last Thursday thru Sunday. At Crawford Creek Iowa Campground, so no telephone lines. Then, Tom's mother had back surgery on Monday in Omaha. So now we are at the hospital every day. Probably won't get back to Texas until this coming weekend.

I'm thinking that George and the Abbotts may both have a certain book. Now if I can just figure out what that book is and buy it...

I'll tell you this much, I have a rather extensive library of books, cd's, magazines, my own photos, and other various miscellaneous sources, as well as about 2000+ web links at my disposal. You and others may in fact have some, if not most, of these, but since I make an effort not to use one or two exclusively, it would be difficult to believe one can just go grab a certain source for all the right answers.
It helps to be able to recognize the lights from the picture(s), but it is also a big benefit to use all the available methods of "search" together with clues to pinpoint a light without having to recognize it upfront. Larry especially, as well as Tom/Joyce do this quite well.
(It would behove me NOT TO USE any from this website: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/larrylights/)
LOL

On the other side of the coin, it would appear that based upon past year's games we have two rather astute lighthouse afficiandos/sleuths in Larry and Tom/Joyce. Very rarely do the puzzles go unsolved and when they are solved it usually is by one of the above.
Hat's off to you both!!!

I just wish we had more players.

Thank you George. You provide many hours of fun (too many hours :p ), so my hat is off to you.

My library is thin. I need to fatten it up. Most of what I find is from web searches. Many, many web searches.

I wish we had more players, too. frown

I guess I'd better start thinking about changing my "handle". You guys are Super Sleuths, including George who keeps putting all this together! Sorry I just haven't had the time to devote to playing lately but I try to at least see who's scoring all the points!

Thanks Mombo "Lighthouse Sleuth". George deserves lot of credit for coming up with these puzzles. It would certainly be easier with just one puzzle per week.

We just arrived home late Saturday night, so probably won't have much time to work on this week's puzzles. It's back to work on Monday.

It is fun  trying to identify the lighthouse, but we are spending way too much time on the game.

smile

It is a lot of work, but I enjoy it. When I was putting only one puzzle up it would be solved literally within hours. With multiples I'd hoped to stimulate more participation and keep the game alive longer throughout the week. I guess one can devout his life to these, but I'm still leaning towrds makingg the game longer and available to more people (hoepfully). Right now the "following" seems to be limited to about three participants, Larry, T&J, and Diane. Sure would like to see more people playing!!
