Long Island Lighthouse Expert Certification CoursePresented by the Long Island Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society
Sponsored by the US Lighthouse Society and HistoricLighthouses.com This in-depth course is designed for lighthouse tour guides, educators, and anyone interested in lighthouse history. Instruction will be given by local lighthouse experts using lectures, slide presentations, hands-on activities, printed study materials, and visits to local lighthouses. General American lighthouse history will be discussed, with an emphasis put on its reflection in the Long Island, New York area. Topics to be addressed are shown in the schedule below. Those who complete the course will be well versed in the subject and will receive post-course support if needed, in addition to a certificate of completion and a T-shirt designed exclusively for this course.

General Enrollment: $150
Current Tour Guide or LI Chapter Member: $135
LI Chapter Volunteer: $125
Materials included:
T-Shirt - logo with "Ask Me About Long Island's Lighthouses"
Binder and study materials, including architectural prints from HistoricLighthouses.com, and a reproduction of the 1911 Instructions to Light Keepers.
