Pretty nice. I worked at a shop where we sold the Leftons, and there's no comparing the two.

I am a bit disappointed especially with the Cape Neddick and Portland Head Lights. The towers are way too much out of proportion with the keeper's dwellings.

Winners: Bodie, Nubble, Currituck, Hatteras, Key West (best of the bunch), Ponce, Hilton Head, St. Augustine.

Losers: Alcatraz, Cape May, Portland Head, Tybee.

And where, exactly, are dealers going to display these...to the left or to the right of the limited editions, GLOWs, Little Lights, ornaments, figurines and ships?

Are these open editions? Do they have a Harbour Lights code number? What market are they targeting? There must be lots more questions. Any thoughts?

Ok let me see if I've got this wright. These are going to be open editions, right? Are they going to be numbered?

These are open editions; no numbers. They have "GN" product numbers.

The target market? The same people who might have bought a Lefton lighthouse when it was available - locals, tourists, people decorating with a nautical theme. (My guess only.)

See Lighthouse Depot for versions that they make up as table lamps:

They look nice if you like that kind of thing. I probably won't be purchasing them. I just don't have the space for them. I have enough HL's in storage now.

I wish Harbour Lights good luck with their new venture.

I think I will withhold final judgement until I can see the actual piece. Sometimes pictures do not tell the true story.

They look nice, but I'm with some of the others on this one - no more room! Good Luck Harbour Lights! Looks like Paul (The almost employee) will have to add a room on the house! wink wink

I'm going to agree with the majority, open editions, no room for them. Maybe one as a night light, but I'll have to wait and actually see it in person at the dealers.

Haven't been able to buy any HL's in the last year, but probably will buy a St. Augustine in this line since it is my favorite. But can't see people collecting these unless they used to collect Lefton.

The fact that most of the people in these forums don't plan to buy this line probably means HL has hit the target market it was aiming for with these models.

The Guardian of the Night line was NOT intended to appeal to those who collect the original Harbour Lights.

When it comes along, I'll buy the Fort Gratiot light to keep my collection of various models of my old home town light.

I had some indirect information on Lefton sales years back and they were doing well according to the source. I expect lots of people will pay $48 for one of these. The number of people who will collect them all can probably be counted on your fingers and toes.

IMHO, this line opens up a whole different market for Harbour Lights with almost no overlap to the LEs and GLOWs.

Let's wish for success for Guardians. This can be the 'cash cow' that enables the company to continue to fulfill the desires for those who collect those detailed LEs in smaller edition sizes.

Lighthouse enthusiasts not the target market? I don't see Lefton Collectors discarding their collections anytime soon to make room for these.

Hey whatever it takes to get rid of those offending GLOWS.

Power to the Limited Editions!!!!!!!!

imho

The HL Limited Edition collectors that frequent this forum can be an intense lot. I worked hard to earn the money that paid for my extensive collection. In a way, I feel like it is an investment and a hobby. I'm sure many of the connected collectors feel the same way.

I'm pleased to see Harbour Lights branching out with different products. I feel it's important to their business future to explore all potential sources of new revenue that will keep the financial growth of the company heading in the right direction.

Even though they are introducing new lines, they haven't forgotten about the faithful collectors who continue to purchase the limited editions that made the company what it is today. The new releases of limited editions continue to excite collectors as they just keep getting better without a major increase in retail price. Maybe Harbour Lights can keep the price down thanks to profits derived from branching out into new products.

Hopefully, Younger & Associates will enjoy continued successes in marketing and continue to provide the connected collectors with a top-quality line of limited editions while enjoying a good profit from other business ventures.

I'm happy! Are you happy?

Buy them if you like them.

I also look at my limited edition Harbour Lights as an investment and a hobby. I don't plan on selling them anytime soon.
I did purchase one of the large lighted Leftons
several years ago for sentimental reasone. It was
Rockland Breakwater and it was the first one that
I ever saw.
I still haven/t seen the ones from Harbour Lights,
but I think I might like to have Portland Head
Light. Have to see it before I decide as
I'm limited for space.
