NAME THE FLAME PIC GAME ‘02 Round 2 May thru August

Below is today's Light picture to be named.
Here’s a brief list of guidelines that will be used.
1. Every Thursday (usually in PM EST) a new light-puzzle will be presented, barring problems.
2. The light may be from anywhere in the world.
3. Please limit guesses to 1/person/day
4. A hint may be provided every day starting on the 2nd day.
5. I will keep/post the running scores.
6. Scoring will be by points assigned for difficulty (1-5), and placement. For
example, on a 5 point puzzle the following five levels will be awarded:
5 pts – 1st correct answer, 4 pts – 2nd, 3 pts – 3 rd, 2 pts – 4 th, 1 pts – 5th
For a 4 point puzzle there will be 4 levels awarded, etc.
7. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS ! Email your guess with the active clue word from the solved jigsaw puzzle.

8. Your input (please!) with photos ENCOURAGED appreciated, and acknowledged when used.

9. Rate this a 4.
10. I will post scores/names as they are received, but will not post the answer until all levels (in this case 4 for this week) have been completed. The 1st game of the week will run until all levels are completed, or until the next Thursday.

Once you have downloaded the game, just doubleclick on the exe file and start the STANDALONE VERSION. Remember, that solving the puzzle isn't by any means the end - you've got to use the completed puzzle as clues to figure which LH it is.
But of course, you can't win the game until you solve the jigsaw puzzle.
Right click on puzzle pieces to rotate them. Move them together and if you are right, they will stick together.

It just dawned on me, that nobody will be posting to this thread but me when I update it. SO, how about posting a note or comment that " you're working on it", or submitted an answer, or anything else related to the NTFG.

I will post scores/names as they are received, but will not post the answer until all levels (in this case 4 for this week) have been completed. The 1st game of the week will run until all levels are completed, or until the next Thursday.

Randy, sometimes I'm surprised by what is easy and what is hard!!

XXXXXX is 114.7km south of Yosu. It is part of Tadohae(meaning archipelago) National Marine Park including Paekdo Island(National Scenic Spot No.7). It was here where the XXXXXX Occupation Incident by the British Navy occurred in the 1800's. The Island now serves as advance base for fishermen.

It would also help if you new the meaning of the word "do" in Korean.

RANDY, there is still a point available in this game, and my hints ought to pretty much pinpoint it (as i gave out too much info!)

Need somebody to score the last point so we can move onto the 2nd game for this week.


In order to close out this first game and have time for the second one, I'll award the last point to the first person who hasn't scored this week already who can post what "do" means in Korean.

Well, George, since you said post the response, and I've given up on trying to figure out which lighthjouse it is, I'll give it a try!

I've actually have found 2 definitions for "do" in Korean.

The first means a "way of life" or "art" (as in Tae Kwon Do).

The second (which I'm sure is the one you meant) means "island."
