Lighthouses Climbed, Part 1 Lighthouses Climbed, Part 2 Lighthouses Climbed, Part 3 Originally posted by Lorie Roe: John's posting of the lighthouse stairs got me to thinking of starting a list of lighthouses climbed. I'm sure there are some lights that quite a few of us have climbed and others that have been open for special occasions that not many people have climbed.
Start posting any lighthouses that you have personally climbed. Only one post per day. It doesn't matter from which state the lighthouse is located. This list might give us ideas of lights to visit that we can also climb.

Lorie got anxious and posted this at the end of the Part 2 thread . . . . Originally posted by Lorie Roe: I am going to try and list the lighthouses that have already been posted as climbed. This might help the new people jumping in so they don't have to go back and read all the posts.

The list has been updated...check it and any posts following this to see if your light has been posted. As for me, I'm going to add Stony Point, NY (Hudson River) Visted at the June 2003 NJLHS meeting after waiting excitedly for the FedEx truck to bring the new Harry Potter book that came out that day.

Admiralty Head, WA. One of the first I took my kids to climb (it's short). Great view but an empty lantern room.

The list has been updated...check it and any posts following this to see if your light has been posted. As for me, I'll add: Mystic Seaport, on the 2004 NELL Lighthouses, Hot Chocolate, and You tour. One of the first people ever to climb it.

How about SOL, aka Lady Liberty. It was a long time ago and I don't think I made it quite all the way but what the heck, nobody else has mentioned it!

Sea Pines Hilton Head, SC (so embarrasing to admit, but it is an aid to navigation and considered a lighthouse. A lighthouse you will see and climb once and never want to return.)

I'm running out of lighthouses that I can remember climbing in the US so I'm going to Canada. This is one that has been made by HL's:

Cape Charles, VA. This was before the keeper's house was burned to the ground.
I notice the PERMANENT image that was supposed to be my Avatar has disappeared.

Three things: 1) The list is updated. Check it and the following posts before posting. 2) I have listed the Statue of Liberty under both NY and NJ, with a notice. I know it's in NJ, but you New Yorkers are happuly misinformed, so I met in the middle. 3) Robert - You can only post 1 light/day. You're more than welcome to use Liston tommorow, but for today, I am only counting Cape Charles.
