Those may be the prettiest lighthouse stairs I have not yet seen. The only thing I found while looking was this lighthouse stairs tie

I've clumbed that one.

"New..." something. I don't want to guess because I don't have any photos ready to play. LOL

This isn't the Mystery Lighthouse but a view out one of the windows (which is a little dirty and into the sun) about half way up the Mystery Lighthouse..

You are correct, Bob, that was one of the cleanest insides of a tower I have ever been inside.. It doesn't look like it was built in 1881..

How did you get in there? Pixie dust? I thought the lantern room looked like New Cape Henry, but thought that couldn't be right, because you can't get in there. Sheesh, shows what I know.

This was on our Bus/Boat trip arranged by Dave H at the Tidewater Regional. So I guess it was Dave dirt instead of Pixie dust..

Being the Coast Guard(retired) or CG Auxilary does wonders for access!

The Tidewater trip was great! We also had access to the interior of Old Point Comfort. Fond, fond memories. My mother's first HL event!

I would call it it Dave's SILT not dirt.[Silty soil is considered to be among the most fertile of soils.)

Happy 4th of July!!

One of our favorite lighthouse settings, even with extreme overcast conditions.. Talk about a white sky we had this day on September 23rd in 2003.. The wind was blowing just a little bit, also..

OK, this is the lighthouse with blue sky with a bird flying overhead and from the water if it helps.. What a great setting!!
