More specifically, the south tower. The bi valve lens is also from the south tower. It is mounted in a building behind the two towers and slowly revolves. It is beautiful.

South tower

North tower from the South tower

and both!

We have been there a couple of times, I just didn't remember all of the bars.. Did remember the beautiful Fresnel housed in the brick generator building..

No, I didn't know what the other building was. I figured you must have been there. I was expecting your pictures of Navesink with blue skies! laugh I was glad to have the weather we had. The Nor'easter didn't cause nearly the problems we expected.

It looks like it might say something on the headboard...hopefully the potty chair is not the clue. I think the wood is oak, though the color looks like pine. No idea where you are, but I think you are likely in the Great Lakes.
( Who is that guy? I think he's stalking you Paul...he's been in other pictures of yours. wink )

I knew I could count on you! I was curious about the bars...but they are in your pictures also. I thought they might be something newer. As for your mystery light, I think I need 'The Book.'

October 2001...you could probably still see smoke from the towers.

Nice pictures of Navesink. I think I need a new camera. My pictures don't look like this. Any suggestions, especially with the Cruise coming up.

The pot is the clue, but I can't give the answer due to Mr. Scrooge's exclusionary rules on a website that allegedly encourages participation. Is it possible that Mr. Scrooge is an effete snob?

lgthouselady, don't compare your pictures to Paul's. He's a professional. I know mine aren't as good, but they are getting better. Suggestions? Get as many pixels as you can, get a long lens if you can. Mostly just take LOTS of pictures of LOTS of lighthouses and have fun!
MG I offered before to help you with posting pictures and the offer still stands. It takes some time to get the hang of it.
I finally got into 'The Book' this morning...and thanks to MG's clue... I finally found it. Pottawatomie or Rock Island, WI.

Laura, the pot was a clever thing for them to display at the Pottawatomie Lighthouse.

And MG we don't need name calling here in the Forums..

Yes it is, here is mine from the same year of 2005 and as you can see Pottawatomie was the lighthouse we were supporting in 2005... JJ had his on even though it was 2007 when the group visited the light during the Regional because of the special day of having all of the Wackos there with Bill and Harry. Bill presented JJ 'with a t' (Jim Johnston) with an AP of the LLOM at the lighthouse since the LE hadn't been produced yet..

Sorry Laura, I was adding my comments when you posted your response..

Dave H made the Wacko badges and on this particular one I believe Suzanne shot the image which I then sized and formatted and sent to Dave who compiled it with the information and printed the badges..

Laura said it was a Poe light..

Orlando Metcalfe Poe

Quote:
In Summer 1865 Poe became the Lighthouse Board's chief engineer; in 1870 he was promoted to the position of Chief Engineer of the Upper Great Lakes 11th Lighthouse District. In this capacity he designed eight "Poe style lighthouses" and oversaw construction of several. Poe was named District Engineer for the Eleventh Lighthouse District,

Cape May, NJ?

Defiantly looks like one of the 1850's style coastal towers.

Defiantly

Looks like Paul took it before pizza.

So it's definitely not a Poe

Actually we have done Cape San Blas before, and Cape May. I made a list awhile back, I haven't updated it lately. My list ends with Sand Point MI. At that point we had done 157 lights with 8 duplicates. Thats a lot of lighthouses! In my opinion, if the lighthouse is presented differently, as these last two were, I don't think its a problem. Except for the fact that you can't eliminate that light as a possibility.

That's strange because I did a word search for Cape May in the Games Forum before I posted and nothing showed up..

Any guesses on the new mystery light?

Doing a search doesn't work too well, because of all the guesses. Thats why I did the list. I ought to put it in a spreadsheet that can be sorted, its just hand written now. We have had sooo many lighthouses in here, its hard to keep track.
I have put Cape May up before, but from an entirely different angle. I obviously had no idea which light Paul was using. Same deal with your beginning on Cape San Blas. It may be getting to where its very difficult not to repeat.

A search should find a guess or the light and my search found no use of Cape May either way.. I may need to do a rebuild of the data base for just the games Forum if I can.. I don't want to rebuild all of the Forums because that could shut it down for hours..

Eric is the expert on the skeleton towers. Rawley Point class skeletal tower. Five were built, three remain. This one is the second tallest lighthouse in the US - Cape Charles, VA. I haven't seen it so close, good job Paul.
