I think you have it Bob. At least that was going to be my guess.

Egmont Key Light

Bob you just saw it, of course you were in the air..

Even zooming in I don't see the red/white tower or the lamp on ground.
We were suppose to go by sea but 6-8 ft seas put us in the air. Certainly shows upclose & personal is the way to go. LOL

The red and white tower was removed a couple of years ago. It was used as part of either Macdill Air Force Base or Tampa International's radio beacon. I haven't been out since it was removed.


The lens is right beside the flag pole inside a square picket fence. The flag pole is in another square picket fence, which is the closest of the squares to the tower. In the photo Bob posted you can just make out the squares.

That was what you could call a WAG. I remembered watching the light click on and off at Yaquina Head and it looked so familiar. The deck prisms...they are alot of places, I had no clue. I will put a picture up tonight. I just got a new computer at work and it is making me crazy.

I would have gotten it if our ferry hadn't been being worked on and was canceled, so we had to bypass it on our way to Florida.

Oh well we may make it by there some day..

It a great ferry trip Paul. You can see Old Baldy, Oak Island and Prices Creek on the same trip. I was pleasantly surprised how well we could see Prices Creek. I think if you check your HL model, the sash is crooked also.

Well, we make it to Hatteras every few years, so maybe the next trip to N.C. the ferry will be running..
