This one is for members who have fewer than 500 posts as of the start of this game.

One post per person per day. The name of your lighthouse must begin with the last letter of the name of the previously named lighthouse. If the previously named lighthouse consists of more than one word (such as "Cape Hatteras") -- you can work off the last letter in any one of the words.

You must name a lighthouse not previously used in this game -- and you can use either existing lighthouses or lighthouses that have been destroyed.

A slight twist -- the lighthouse that YOU add cannot be in the same state as the previously named lighthouse. So you must include the state abbreviation in your lighthouse name. Note that some states have lighthouses with the same names such as Presque Isle MI and PA. Both these can be used in the game since they are different lighthouses.

And since Cape Hatteras NC (the one we know and love) is different from the Cape Hatteras Beacon (the first lighthouse on the site), both are valid choices.

For the education of those who are viewing but not necessarily playing in this game, please include a link to a page with information and/or a photo of the lighthouse.

Be sure to look at the Internet Index of Lighthouse Links. If you search around there in the Cool Stuff page, you'll find several lists of lighthouses to work with and, of course, lots of pages that you can link to.

Here's the start:

Fort Gratiot MI The next lighthouse named must have a word that BEGINS with "T" and cannot be in Michigan.

Using the "T" in Point ---- Thatcher's Island Lighthouses (there are 2) in Rockport, Massachusetts. ---- I like this game. I hope to learn a lot and contribute a lot!

A word from above

Hey, guys, don't forget John's request that you include a link to a picture/information about the light you name. You can just copy and paste the link or you can be fancy about it. Remember that this is an educational game so the pic/info helps educate your fellow forumites.

We now return you to the scheduled game in progress. . . .

thanks John. That's why we newer members cannot play the international game. It goes back so far, that it is an extremely time-consuming task to track what has been played. Although, in tracing back some of the international game, there are some interesting names
