Here's a challenge. I'll add a sentence a day until someone guesses both the location and the source of the text...

"This Island is a very singular one. It consists of little else than the sea sand, and is about three miles long. Its breadth at no point exceeds a quarter of a mile. Congrats, Bob. You got it. Right after I posted that challenge, I used Google on the sentence and up popped 3-4 references to the Gold Bug!

I began re-reading Poe after re-reading Conan Doyle for about the 5th time.

Did a full bibliography on Poe books (by and about) for a college English course by spending a weekend in the NYC library. What a difference it would make in research time right now!

So, did I win something gooooooooooood? lol

Sorry, Derith. But with the ability to search the Internet for a phrase or sentence, I think it would be fruitless to do the same kind of challenge using a piece of literature.

But anyone is welcome to make up a set of clues for a location, they are welcome to do so.
