If there will be new Wacko pins and badges for 2005 -- have the nominations and voting been done for the "restoration lighthouse of the year" for the 2005 Wacko pins and badges? Jerry and Donna

I can't answer for Dave and the Wacko Badge but as of now there will not be any Wacko Pin for 2005.
There are several reasons for this but suffice to say the commitee voted to not repeat the proces for 2005.
I do hope that Dave continues with the Wacko Badge (although as Esther pointed out this weekend it doesn't say Wacko anywhere on it this year).
I'm going to send an e-mail to Dave about this and see what he plans.
I'll report back when I've heard from him.

I hope we do the badge for 2005. I don't know what I'd do without them! I'm starting to get a bit bored of Bodie and Espous...I need something fresh! Hey, I just noticed that it said Wacko on the '03 badge. I noticed the Espous one didn't have it...perhaps the Wacko should be at the top, where it says connected collector...a bit more appropriate.

Though I am disappointed in the badge sales for this year I see no reason not to continue it next year. (So far, net sales are just a tad over $750, but every dollar helps a light with their preservation efforts.) I will work out some thoughts with Dennis.

I must agree with Greg. I firmly believe that the WACKO Badges are important to the participants in the Forum. At least they are to me.
I would tend to predict that with anticipation of the Reunion, the sales of the 2005 WACKO Badge will go right through the roof. Plus, history tells us that once a tradition is terminated, it is difficult to revive.
Thanks for checking into it, Dave.

I think we should continue also. Perhaps add a dollar or two to each pin or badge to raise more money. Or perhaps keep the price the same but ask on the order form if they would like to make an additional donation. Just my 2 cents. Eric

Eric,
Keep your eyes on the forums. I'll be making an announcement in the very near future about the 2005 Wacko Badge.

Are we still going to, as a group, vote on the begifted lighthouse, or will it be an "executive decision"? Of course, I would much prefer the former.
