I want to first say thanks for all the positive comments and feedback you have given us about the new website for our Wacko Pin Project.

I am happy to report that the committee has just now agreed to take Paypal payments for this year's pin. We are adding a "convenience fee" of $1.00 per pin ordered through Paypal to cover their service fees so we do not take away from our donation to Bodie Island Lighthouse. Of course you can also send a personal check or money order as you have done in past years.

Please note the deadline for ordering the 2003 Wacko Pin is April 21st. ALL PINS MUST BE PREPAID. This is a time sensitive project as no extra pins are ordered for sale at a later date. I am sure you won't want to miss your opportunity to order this highly collectible pin and help restore a lighthouse at the same time.

While you are thinking about it click on WACKO PIN and it will take you directly to our website where you will find a picture of this year's Pin and the order form. We also have a guest book and hope you will take a few minutes to give us your comments about this project and our new website.

To all of you that have made the WACKO pin possible again this year, I want to thank you. This pin is by far the best looking pin yet. I also appreciate that you were able to make Paypal available to buy the pin on line. That extra dollar to use Paypal is worth it for me. For those of you who have never bought a WACKO pin before I must tell you this is a great time to get started. It is such a worthy cause and the pin is beautiful. Thanks again for all the love & hard work that has gone in to making this possible.

On behalf of the other Wacko pin committee members, I would like to thank Darlene for all of her work in creating this great webpage. Just how she had time to do it, what with her heavy school work schedule and her volunteerism at Mukilteo Lighthouse, I sure don't know. But here it is, and we hope you enjoy it.

She has incorportated some extras into this page for your enjoyment: a guestbook where you can not only make your comments but read what others have posted; and a great write-up on Bodie to underscore the importance of saving such a historical lighthouse. Please take the time to use these features.

We are trying PayPal for the first time, for your convenience in ordering. Our project for Bodie is very different from the name badge and the print, in that we HAVE to meet a minimum order, as stipulated by our manufacturer. So the faster your orders come in, the easier it is for us to see how we are achieving that minimum goal. It's also a big morale booster for us to see how our work has paid off.

Almost there Mel -- about 18 more to go. I will be sending out some personal emails to people who have ordered pins in past years that have not yet ordered this year's pin -- hopefully that will put us over the top.

Will post an update as to numbers on Friday evening.
