While perusing Ebay I found a Sapelo Island Front Range, Georgia that is the 2008 regional event exclusive. They state that it is only one of 20 in the US at this time and it is signed by Bill Younger. The entire bid price will go to the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation and will support rebuilding the New Canal Lighthouse. The bid as of tonight is only $41.00. I thought that maybe some of our forum members that were not able to attend the regional would be interested in making a bid besides the fact that it's for a great cause. Check it out by typing in the search "harbour lights regional". Thought it might be okay to post this since it is for a lighthouse fundraiser.

The regional pieces are, in fact, the first ones in the country. Before the regional I offered CF readers the chance to order one of the pieces from the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation (those pieces should go out early this week from New Orleans). There was one left unspoken for. Sharon, one of our new friends, agreed to put it up for sale to see if the foundation could make a few extra bucks - all of which will go towards the New Canal rebuilding fund.

I'm kind of surprised this one has slipped under the radar to this point. I would love to see this piece fetch a reasonable price. With the very limited event numbers this year, the opportunity to have one that is signed by Bill will be even lower than in the past. The winner of this auction will not only help save the light, they will be among the first in the country to have this piece. Remember, not every dealer chooses to be a regional supporting dealer, and this piece is available only thru a regional supporting dealer.

Thanks for sharing the info, Ruthie. Members of the CF have helped the LPBF over the past year or so with funds from the 2007 Wacko badge, a small donation from the ELL profits and with proceeds from the rgional event last week. Here is one more chance to help and get a nice reward for doing so.

I put a bid in. We were not able to make the Regional and won't make the next one either.

Dave,

You should have signed it as well- then the value would have increased because of the scarcity of your signature- except on checks.

Dennis, had I signed it I would have had to raise the money to get someone to buy it . . . .

I'm tickled to see the bids come in as they have today. The funds are going to a very appropriate lighthouse cause, but the buyer will be well ahead of the power curve in having the piece in their possession and having one with Bill's signature!
