LAST OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE A DEDICATION/MEMORIAL BRICK AND HELP SAVE A LIGHTHOUSE

The Avery Point Lighthouse Society has announced that April 30, 2005 will be the last day they will accept orders (applications) for the Avery Point Lighthouse dedication/memorial bricks. The relighting ceremony for the lighthouse is presently scheduled for September 24th and the installation of the bricks in the dedication walkway is scheduled to begin July 1st. Therefore, it is necessary to discontinue selling the bricks to permit sufficient time to have them engraved and shipped back to the lighthouse walkway site before July.

This will be the last opportunity for you to help support the effort to save and restore the Avery Point Lighthouse; the only lighthouse built as a memorial to all other lighthouses and light keepers. The dedication walkway will be installed next to the lighthouse and will travel for a distance of approximately 800 feet. It will overlook Long Island and Fisher's Island Sounds where you can look out and see five other lighthouses.

To print a copy of the brick application form, go to http://www.averypointlight.com/LastChancetoPurchaseABrick.htm

Forward you order to APLS, P.O. Box 1552, Groton, CT 06340. You will received a beautiful certificate describing who the purchaser is and the words to be engraved on your brick. The bricks make great gifts for holidays, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, memorials, friendships, graduation, dedications, etc.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON BEING PART OF THIS HISTORIC EVENT!

All my best,
Paul Conlin
