Let's talk a little about Harbour Lights 1st Annual Reunion. I ran accross a web-site about the first reunion and was amazed at what I found. A Point Vicente Harbour Lights piece? One of a kind! Well, actually two of a kind from what the web-site says. Was anyone there? Does Harbour Lights have any other "one of a kind" pieces floating around? check out this link to see... http://hometown.aol.com/hrbrlights/reunion.htm digitalman

There is a Bill Younger "statue", auctioned at the '98 reunion. A one of a kind.
There is a Kilauea "1st Mold" artist proof, and a Montauk GLOW "1st Mold" artist proof, both auctioned at '98 reunion. I believe one or two of each exist.
There are only a couple Harbour Lights' "watches" floating around. One auctioned and one given away at the '98 reunion, and possibly a couple more. I forget how many.
There are only (13) Anchor Bay "regular edition" AB105 "Kim"s existing.
There are a couple reported Old Field Point's with the metal tree floating around. (probably Rep's pieces that were never returned)
There are probably a dozen or two completely "unpainted" HL ornaments from the '97 Reunion floating around. (4 versions available: Hattaras, Colchester, Saugerties, and Stonington) A few people took a couple home without painting them at the "paint your own ornaments" event. tisk..tisk. I bought 3 of the 4 ornaments on the secondary market. I only know of one person, and possibly two who have all 4 versions. 2 were on e-bay recently for the first time I have ever seen.
I have a "black & white" 1998 Sea Girt button. I think it is the only existing one.
...that's all I can think of. [This message has been edited by Rod Watson (edited 06-09-2000).]

Your link leads to Mike Richards web site and yes, indeed, it brings back some memories. That August 97 event was before the time of www.HarbourLights.com, but you can still review the 1998 Providence Reunion at: www.HarbourLights.com/events/Reunion_98/ Rod's the man when it comes to knowing the rarer Harbor Lights items. His mention of the 'Harbour Lights Watches' reminded me of Kim's line when trying to auction one of them: "Price of a Rolex, quality of a Timex". Here's a rumor: Harbour Lights is going to be hiring Mombo as a permanent consultant for planning future Harbour Lights Family Reunions! Remember, it's only a rumor -- at least right now.

I also was fortunate to attend the 1st reunion in San Diego CA.Unfortunatly I missed the lighthouse painting session but was given some unpainted ones to take home. The 1st reunion was an event I will never forget and I hope to be able to attend another one in the future.

Does anybody know why the Point Vincente piece was never issued ? I'd love to have one of it. I got to see it from outside the fence on my recent jaunt to CA/OR. I'm sure there is a logical reason . The post from Mike richards about the first reunion make s me wish I got started earlier. Dennis

The 1st Reunion in San Diego is one of the true highlights of my collecting career. Longer, more intimate and less herding than Providence. It was leisurely but there was always a fun activity available for you. There was time to relax and chat lighthouses and meet new friends. The little thumbnails appeared as 'surprises' not handouts. The trip to see 'the two Lomas' was great fun. The dinner cruise around the harbor was classy. (don't say the word "...."). The 'paint your own mini' get together we'll probably never see again. And though the HL staff may disagree - the after dinner play written and produced just for the Reunion, was a total hoot. The drawings and raffle for the Pt. Vicente were crowd wowers.
If HL ever manages to recapture the magic of the 1st Reunion it will be a special thing. I'd go again if I could. :-)

Bill told us in the "special" chat on Friday that there should be an announcement about the reunion in the next Legacy. Jim Johnson

No, Ruthie - the next reunion wil be in 2001. As to the month, it's just speculation until HL announces it.

Bob...you have good eyes. That is John at the bar! Some things haven't changed...except maybe his transition to one of the "Bald Guys".
