On Sunday, May 2, the Long Island Lighthouse Society will conduct its Spring Cruise to see the lighthouses of Long Island's Gold Coast - Stepping Stones, Sands Point, Execution Rocks, Cold Spring Harbor, Lloyd (Huntington) Harbor, and Eaton's Neck - aboard the three-level luxury yacht, Skyline Princess. Includes indoor and outdoor viewing areas, live entertainment, historical narration, continental breakfast, hot buffet lunch, raffles, special guests, and more. Leaves from Port Washington at 9AM. Funds raised help the Lighthouse Society continue its local historic lighthouse preservation and education efforts. $75 for Society members; $85 for nonmembers. Reservations may be made by mailing a check to the Society at PO Box 744, Patchogue, NY 11772, or via PayPal on the Society’s web site: LILighthouseSociety.org.

For more information, call the Long Island Lighthouse Society at 631-207-4331, or contact Events@LILighthouseSociety.org.

And don't forget to join us on Saturday May 1st for the 2nd Annual Suffolk County Lighthouse Day at Cedar Point County Park in East Hampton, NY--home of the Cedar Island Lighthouse!

Diane,

I'm not sure I can make this one this year, but I'll give a ringing endorsement for the Cruise.

Esther & I went on it last year and it was a great day. We got to see some Lighthouses we had not seen and to spend some quality time with people we had meet before, knew only from the internet and some we had not had any contact with.

The food was great and the company was better. You get a great narration of the history of the Lighthouses as you go along.

I say if you haven't done this trip yet do it- and if you've done it already do it again.

Thanks, Dennis, for the thumbs up! laugh

I hope you and Esther will be able to join us, but if not, we look forward to possibly seeing you both at one of our other upcoming events.

Diane,

I calls 'em as I see'em!

It's still possible. I'm hoping to get to the Beacons Of The Night Cruise this year- if that LI curse of mine will stay away again. laugh

Wish I could attend but this cruise is always the same weekend that I go home for my birthday and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Walk.

I too went on this cruise last year and it was fantastic!! It was our (Beaconfollower and myself) LI cruise to see the LI lights and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I don't think that we will be able to go this year. We vowed after sitting in traffic in Brooklyn for hours that we would not do it again!! But we did enjoy ourselves and we actually met Dennis and his wife, Esther, while we were there. If you haven't, go!!

We would really like to do this cruise. Haven't seen any of the LI lights yet, and on our list. But, I think we have a conflict that weekend. As soon as we know we can do it, we will pray there is still room.

Joyce, just to let you know, we are going to start sending out press releases for the cruise within the next week or so.

The cruise will sell out, but you do still have some time to make a reservation. Just wanted to let you know. Hope you can join us! This really is a fun cruise. laugh
