Friends,

A few weeks ago we removed nine of the original doors from inside the keepers house at Maine’s remote Little River Lighthouse.

These doors were covered with so many years of layers of lead paint and it was impractical for volunteers to restore them

We took the doors off the island and volunteers Scott and Beth Record brought them to a furniture restoration firm in Lewiston, Maine.

The doors will be ready to be picked up in a few days.

They have been striped/dipped down to their original wood.

Scott and Beth have offered to pick up the heavy wood doors and deliver them back to Cutler and assist Bill and myself with getting them back on the island.

The cost is $100.00 per door for a total of $900.00.

Since this is an amount that is workable or practical for some, and I’m never to shy to ask for money, we are appealing for someone to come forward to pay or help pay for the doors.
