Want to win a mini Hooper Strait?

Here is your chance to win one !

This mini hooper was only available as a gift to attending guests at the Harbour Lights 2001 Baltimore reunion. I will have the drawing on or just after Saturday, March 1st 2002

Tickets are $1 each or 7 for $5.00

I am able to accept payments by PayPal, If you are not set up with PayPal click the logo below and you will receive $5.00 for signing up and I will receive a $5.00 referral bonus which I will add to the fund total.

If you want to mail a check, you can do that too. Just mail it to me, I'll put my address at the bottom.

To make sure the maximum money goes to the lighthouse I will not be mailing out your half of the ticket stubs (to save the cost of postage), I will put your name on every ticket you buy and keep a list of names and ticket numbers too. But if you want your half of the ticket stubs, include a self addressed stamped envelope with your check and I'll send back the stubs.

I will have my nearly 4 year old son Sean draw the winning ticket after my mail is delivered Saturday, March 1st, 2002.

Myself and my family will not be in the drawing and not winning.

Send a Check to:

After I have all the checks in and any PayPal transferred I will send a check for the entire amount, including PayPal referrals to the S.E. Block lighthouse people of behalf of the Collectors forums gang.

Questions? E-mail me Slugo35@aol.com

2 weeks to go ! don't wait until the last minute. And Remember Anyone can win (except me and my family) Newbie's, Lurker's, Wacko's, Saint's, Cruise director's, CEO's, CFO's, anyone!!

And in Honor of Presidents day I'll quote Calvin Coolidge "You can never have too many mini Hoopers"

Also, The S.E. Block people have matching grant money available too, so the more we send, the more grant money they'll get too.

It's still not too late, if you want to send a check, let me know that it's in the mail and I'll get you into the drawing. or you'll be able to PayPal until the drawing Saturday afternoon.

And Paul, Thanks for the pictures

We Have a winner!

First of all, I want to thank everyone who has helped in the upkeep and repairs for the S.E. Block Island lighthouse, we have raised $140.00 that I will be sending to them within the week.

Dave Hannum from Kokomo, IN. is our big winner, Congratulations Dave!

Who would have come second if there was a second prize? Well, Hannah was mad that I had Sean pick the winner, so she wanted to see who would have come in second and she pulled Paul's name.

If you didn't get in the drawing you can still help out the SEB lighthouse by purchasing a Wacko Pin which will also benefit the SEB Lighthouse

find out more here http://home.att.net/~wackopin/ or here
http://www.lighthousekeepers.com/forums/Forum36/HTML/000036.html

Thanks again everybody, Mark

Gee, thanks Sean! (I mean, Mark). I sure hope the check clears..... Maybe this is the start of a good year for me. We'll just have to see what comes out of the Register & Win contests and Rosemont! (Better get started with my planning for which light I want HL to make ....)

Heather did get off to a good start - she was the first door prize winner at the Derby City Lights event in Louisville today. She chose Faulkner's Island to add to her collection.

Thanks to all who helped Mark raise these funds for Block Island South East Light. Seeing Paul's slide show again today helps to remind one just how much help those folks need to get this magnificent light stabilized and hopefully back into a condition the USLHS would approve of! This year all of our efforts are going towards this light - the Wacko's share of the Reunion Auction funds went here. the Wacko Pin is taking orders, and you can also order your very own Wacko Name Badge featuring one of Paul's photos of the light.

Dave won????? Well that's good as now we should get a bit of a reprieve from hearing him cry about never winning anything.

Thank you Mark for your generous donation and for your efforts in helping to raise money for the SE Light.

Hannah and Sean look like they took their drawing duties very seriously. Beautiful children!

Sue, I hope Dave didn't spend his entire allotment of luck for 2002 on this....... there is still 4 regionals left.

I hear tell his luck was so bad, people sitting near him couldn't win anything either, well hopefully Dave the drought is over. And I expect to have it in the mail this week Dave.

Mark that's not quite true about people sitting around Dave not winning either...at the Long Beach Regional there were a group of us sitting with Dave and four at our table were able to take home "The Gold Cape St. George." We all felt it was lucky sitting next to Dave that now we fight over who gets to sit with him.

Mark, you did an outstanding job of raising money for Southeast Light. And congratulations to Dave for being the lucky winner.

How nice of you to link to the wacko pin project's new webpage here on your announcement. Yes, we are now "open" for taking orders for the pin, which uses Paul Brady's photo of the HL Southeast Light sculpture. I hope we will be as successful as you in getting a good response from all Forum registrants and anyone else who would like to buy a pin(s) to help this really needy lighthouse.

The wacko pin would look very much "at home" pinned onto Dave's lanyard !!!

Do order today.

Mark,

It is normally everyone except me or Jim Johnson who wins something. In normal circumstances, they will draw every ticket on either side of the number I hold; they will draw the one that is 10 ahead and 10 behind; the one that is 100 ahead or 100 behind; the mirror image of mine; every ticket in the box except those belonging to JJ or I. Maybe we will break the bank this year. Gee, 4 regionals = 4 different golden lights............

Dave, I am not sure how far you were from me at Navy pier, but I would like to keep that same distance at Rosemont this year.

Navy Pier? I think Dave was probably seated near the food table.

(Now I'm really in big trouble! )

Sue,

Are you still upset we told the barkeeper you couldn't have any more? Actually, it was Heather who went to get the water pitcher to share with those with parched throats (and really upset the union water-person who never did bring the d#$% water around).

Mark,

If you will re-read what I said above, you will come to realize that the best scenario is to have JJ and I come in together, so we get sequential tickets. Be sure you come in just ahead of us or just behind us, and you are pretty much a guaranteed prize winnner.

Dave
Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket?

Not a chance, Golden Boy. I'm going to be sure you and Mark are at the table next to mine at the Chicago Regional and I will be sure to help you pick up your drawing tickets at Bill's seminars (just for luck).

I once attended a Fire Dept. golf outing with my brother-in-law where every participant was given a raffle ticket. They had a glass bowl with all(almost) the tickets in it and prided themselves on giving every participant a prize. Needless to say when the bowl was empty, my number was never called. Yes, I was paying attention Dave, because I was very excited knowing I would definitely win a prize.
Now how's that for luck? I not complaining or whining, I just thought this is interesting and true story.
I did find out two days later that our team won the tournament (computer down on day of tournament)! Now some people would call that lucky! LOL

Dave your mini Hooper is in the mail, I also sent the check to the S.E. Block people yesterday too, Paul Brady had taken in some additional donations last weekend while at the KY events and that money was sent along with the drawing money for a final total of $170.00 So thanks again to everybody and don't forget that you can still help by purchasing a 2002 wacko pin and or a Wacko Badge
