I've visited this one a couple of times- in fact I believe i even posted my photos in the photos section here. I don't imagine that the residents of the gated community it's in really want too many tourists visitng the lighthouse. http://tinyurl.com/23h24lw Dennis

You can visit this lighthouse almost anytime you want. It use to be controlled by the real estate co but now all you have to do is see the security at the gate for a pass. It's on the golf course but you will not be in the way as it's in between holes. I've been there a 1/2 dozen times with all positive visits. It's on Palmetto Dunes.
We thought it was in need of paint but the trees growing around it were almost smothering it.

Interesting story, and the comments interesting as well! Too bad, probably won't get the $$ it needs from the public since the owners don't want to contribute.
