A new lighthouse nation is about to be born The Republic of Boon Island is about to declare its independence in an effort to raise money to restore the remote Boon Island Lighthouse which is the tallest on the Maine Coast. Information on the new Republic will be posted on April 1, at www.LighthouseFoundation.org. Have some fun and visit the site next week.

Mike - I am planning to be onboard the cruise out to Boon Island on Tues. I will post an update here with what this experience was like and let you know if The Republic of Boon Island becomes a self-sustaining nation.

Hi Ron - I'll meet you on the boat. I guess we will both become citizens of the Republic of Boon Island! Let's hope that this cruise draws lots of media attention and a lot of folks who want to buy their way into a government job!

York and Kittery had their chance to save the island and the lighthouse, now the only way for us to succeed is to secede!

See you guys there! I have some packing to finish and then I'm out and on my way. Trying to get up to NH before 9AM from southern CT is not an easy thing to do so I'm off work for 2 days. Oh, I'm just so sad about that.
