The Chesapeake Chapter, USLHS, is conducting a raffle to raise funds to offset expenses for the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge. The Challenge brings people from all over the US to visit 9 land based lights and 1 lightship. Their visits will bring funding to the various lights to help in their restoration, preservation and maintenance. You can view the prizes at the Chapter's website:

The Chesapeake Chapter folks did a great job last year with the first Maryland Lighthouse Challenge. They had some ugly weather to work thru, especially at Turkey Point, but they came thru in a great way. This year Robert Gurskey, one of the Forum members, is the event chairman. And, of course, Joyce is helping with the raffle. By the way, the very nice print that is a prize was done by Joyce's husband, I do believe.

Dave, believe it or not, "Bob Holland" the artist is not my husband. In fact, he is not related to Robert in any way. He is, however, a Norfolk local artist, and does very magnificent work. He mainly does nautical themes. The print offered is his latest, and he told me he will have a new one for next year.

I am working on the raffle, and also I am the point of contact to the lighthouses for the Maryland Challenge. We are Site Coordinators for Piney Point this year, where we were volunteers last year. Robert Gursky is also the Site Coordinator for Point Lookout.

So, if any of you Wackos are taking the Challenge this year, be sure to say hi and meet us. We always look forward to meeting and seeing you guys.

Should we remind folks to wear their Wacko Badges? I know that Joyce and Robert G. were wearing theirs last year. I think Bryan had his on, but that was kind of early on a rainy morning.

Sorry, Stephanie, but I've been very, very busy for some reason and haven't been on the Forum for quite some time. I did, however, have the winners posted on the Chesapeake Chapter website.
