Well then why didn't they put Cove Point lighthouse on the plate?

Boring, just like the Maryland quarter.

I agree with you, Larry. They should have put the lighthouse on the plate.

I'm with the both of you. I like ships and especially saiboats, but that one deserved a lighthouse for sure.

Guys,

I agree that a Lighthouse on the plate would be better, but remember the name of the place is the Calvert Marine Museum and not all things Marine are Lighthouses.

They probably figured to cover all things with a ship on the plate which benefited the Lighthouse.Just a thought.

Well Larry, I guess you'll just have to go out and get a Turkey Point Plate instead.

Yes they do. As part of an initiative to get the word out about the Turkey Point light the Turkey Point Light Station Inc. got MD to issue a plate. From what I've read they do not profit from this but at least it is advertising.

Ok, no matter how I link to the site in my previous post I get a road block. So, to get to the picture of the license plate copy the web address from above and then paste it into your browser.

Maybe you'll need a couple of these to go with those Turkey Point Plates

Shirin - Angelfire is one of those sites that doesn't WANT you to CALL an image from a page. They want you to VISIT the page.

That's so they can deliver ADS on the side and be able to proclaim just how many ADS they delivered.

It's not the only one that does that. Basically almost all the FREE sites do it now.

Thanks for the info John. That explains why my post wasn't working the way I thought it should.

In any case, at least we can all go to the site to see a picture of the plate if we haven't seen it before and just ignore the ads!

The delivery of visual spam by the free sites probably gave life to pop-up stoppepr software.
