Hi Bob, ... I just received the PC-5 address list from Dave. I must have had a "brain cramp" and got PC-5 and PC-6 mixed up.

If this is the start of the PC-6 (in envelope) list, count me in. I've received some great cards for my collection from the previous mailings.

Count me in for #6.Since I'm new at this postcard exchange[I'm signed up for #5] I have a question.Do we write messages on the cards?only addresses on the regular mailed ones?nothing on the ones in envelopes?Preference?Guess this is more than one question!Really looking fforward to the exchange.

I am a fairly new member and would like to get in on pc exchange #6. Seems like there is still room so please count me in and let me know what I need to do.

This sounds like great fun. My interest in lighthouses is new, however I have been collecting postcards for a long time. Looking forward to being a part of this.

Please sign me up as #6 in this postcard exchange. I've been a lurker for several years, but this activity has made me finally want to register. I've always just missed getting in on previous exchanges, so I'm very pleased to see another one starting up.

Sorry for being a little out of the loop here but can anyone sign up?...there are some areas that I visit regularly and some which I don't ...obviously I'm not all that familiar here. Can someone give me the gist of what to do?

(1) sign up to participate (you have done this)
(2) Buy lighthouse postcards (enough for everyone in the exchange)
(3) Write a note to send with the postcard, but not on the postcard (this exchange is for "clean" cards that have not been written on or postmarked)
(4) Place card and note into an envelope
(5) Create address labels from the list that will be provided to you, or hand address the envelopes
(6) Seal the envelopes, affix postage, place into custody of the USPS
(7) Enjoy the cards you will receive over the course of the exchange, and all the notes that come with them
(8) Sign up for the next exchange, and possibly the "traditional" post card exchange

I'll join in at #15. I'll try not to send duplicate cards to the same people.

I'm going to have to load up again.

Thanks for filling me in Dave...and yes...I will be "lucky" thirteen. I'm heading for the Carolinas in 2 weeks and will have ample opportunity to get some nice (and hopefully unique cards).

I think I know the logistics of everything...just one question...when does it start? And when do we get an address list?

John,

You won't get a list until the exhange is closed and finalized. So far, only at 16 of a possible max of 26 (25 plus everyone sends one to Harbour Lights). JoAnn is trying to promote this thread to fill in those final slots. We have added a couple of folks that are new to the forums.... are there any more out there that are interested in participating? It is a lot of fun to get post cards from your fellow connected collectors.

In the several exchanges I have participated in, I have received some very interesting cards, some of very obscure lights that we might not have known about otherwise. We have received home made cards and cards made from the senders own photos. All in all, a lot of really neat post cards, which is why you will see many people sign up over and over again as a new exchange opens up.

'Bout time for your trip to the OBX, John, so be sure to pick up lots and lots of cards. Personally, I would suggest 3 sets of 25 (or 26 if you want to keep a "file copy" for yourself). That way you will be covered not only for this exchange, but for the in envelope / no envelope ones next time around. After you participate in one, you will want to participate in more!

Dave

I have already told Bob I will come into this exchange and do the mailing list. That will make me #17 and Harbour Lights will be #18. Hopefully we will see a few more late comers join in.

For those that have not been a part of a post card exchange in which I provided the mailing list, you need to email me your old fashioned snail mail address. dhannum@iquest.net .

Dave

p.s. If Derith is Sweet Sixteen, hurry and get your cards in the mail, as the world is coming to an end! (tic)

Sounds interesting. I never payed much attention to this thread because I just don't get out that much to acquire postcards, and it's very hard to get lighthouse postcards here. I will be traveling to northern Michigan next month, I'll bet I can get some there! Not real sure how this works yet except for what was mentioned above. what else (if anything) do I need to know?

Digger, old boy, you are closer to lighthouses than some of the folks in this link! Look back up this link a bit to where I posted the step by step routine for Doc John. It really is fun, and you get lots of neat post cards. Be sure to buy several sets of 25-26 cards, though, so you have a supply ready for future exchanges.

Now, just sign below on the dotted line that you are going to participate;
