I also received Stephanie's and Fran's cards at the same time!
Great cards! Thank you so much!

My wife was like..."who are these people?" hehehe... laugh Wait until she sees the rest of the cards that will be coming!
My plan is to someday go to a reunion event with her and hope to actually have her meet everyone!
Geez Fran, we're practically neighbors!

I got Fran's card the other day. A great start, and I like the return of the coordination...I found that to be a really cool touch last year.

Need to find some time to work on mine...

How many of you noticed the postage stamp on Fran's envelope?

It's the same photo as the photo on the card. From Stamps.com

I loved it Fran! Thank You!

Duh...I missed the "literal-ness" you were referring to and YES...it is the Christmas Card Exchange...we should never take the Christ out of Christmas.
For those who don't celebrate the day...
we could always call it "The Santa Card Swap"!

Hey, I got Bob Taylor's card in the mail...thank you very much but can you tell me is this a real lighthouse? It looks like a home! I have trouble with identifying the lighthouses that are in the cards I've received so far...Shortcake's is the only one I've got recognized because it is mentioned on the back of the card...Fran? Bob?...help!

It was just an abreviation I was in a rush. If it bothers some of you so much maybe Dave can change it. I am packing to move in 30 days and have limited time.

Ruthie said Bob's card was Portland Head, so the light just offshore would be Ram Island Ledge.

What's up will all the "Maine" lighthouse Christmas cards? Did I miss something like a theme for this years cards? I've never been to a Maine lighthouse! I guess this is a good way to see what I've been missing! Out of 5 cards received so far....at least 4 that I can identify are Maine lighthouses. Pretty cool and some really great pictures!

With that said...I still love ALL the cards!

Received Ruthie's and Tom's cards today...simply

Bob - I'd guess that a lot of people used photos from the Maine Regional back in October. Since there was a large percentage of the Wacko population there, with a large amount of lights seen, it leaves open a lot of lights to make into cards.

But yeah, I find the trend a bit...amusing...too. In that weird way.

Debbie,

Got your card today... Thank you!
What a GREAT idea this Christmas Card Exchange is!!!
I find myself looking forward to every day to check the mail for "special lighthouse cards"!
And best part is that my wife also is enjoying them too!
Any suggestions on how to hang the picture cards? I was thinking of taping a 3x5 card folded to the back and then hanging them like a regular card.

My cards were also mailed out this afternoon. I am enjoying all of the cards I have received. I've included a photo collage of the lighthouses I visited this year. The first person who identifies the third lighthouse on the top row gets a big "Atta boy/girl!"

JOHN GASKILL's Address
I did some checking tonight after seeing Fran's post, and wish I had known this earlier...

He is at his home in North Carolina:
PO Box 151, Wanchese, NC 27981-0151

I am enjoying each card as they come in, and so is my grandson. Everyone has put so much thought into their cards. Mine will be mailed around the 15th.

Hi Fran ...

You should have been at Sandy Hook yesterday ... What a magnificent December day ...

The lighthouse is Peggy's Cove ... I took it when I lighthouse visited Nova Scotia this past October ... I was reluctant to use it becasue the dusk shot of that light used here on the CF forums was so magnificent ...

My wife saw my shot and saw a Christmas parable of sorts with the light on and the clearing skies off in the distance and persuaded me to use it ... me, I just like the picture ...

Thank you for asking ... much joy to you and yours this Chrismas season ...

Judy what a great idea ... to use a Lighthouse picture with you in it! It adds that personal touch! cool

Received Iris's card yesterday. Very cool to see the difference from that light to what we're used to seeing! My grandsons were extremely impressed and with the envelope also...the stamps and the German. They just kept looking at it and saying "Gram...that came all the way across the Ocean?
We just have so much fun waiting for the next great card...to see what state it's coming from and also what lighthouse we are going to see inside!
They look so beautiful on display and it's like lighthousing without braving the elements!

Mine are out this morning. It's Christmas postcard of my favorite decorated for Christmas lighthouse! I couldn't resist it at LHD. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do?

I haven't had a chance to get on all week due to wrapping presents and crafting some jewelry for gifts. I've gotten as many lighthouse cards as regular ones, LOL! I think they get prettier every year. Judy (Castleberry), your card hasn't been mailed yet since I'm about ready to drop your long-ago requested CD in with it...

Got three cards today - Judy's, Al/Darlene's, and Iris'. The latter must get a special commendation - Iris wins the "perfection award" for this year's exchange! Everything, from the stamps to the handwriting, was perfectly straight and neat! I can not pull that off that well! Bravo!

And of course, the other two were GREAT as well. I'm especially liking to see the stamps everyone chooses - stamps seem maybe a little reflective of each person's personality. That's why I do not predict next year's Jury Duty stamps doing well.

I do believe that Darlene's (aka Ladybug) card is of Mukilteo, her "home" lighthouse! smile

I had those puppies all printed, waiting for the stamps. Stamps came and now I can't find the cards. Will print more tomorrow and put them in the mail with the stamps.

Received two more cards yesterday - from Sunshine and Suzanne.

Suzanne, great shot. Seems that you had been standing in the icecold water to get the photo.
And special thanks for your words in German.

Judy, which German lighthouses are you thinking of?

Regards

Iris - did you get my card? I mailed yours early because of the distance.

Iris,

I was standing on some icy rocks to take that picture.

Thanks for your card with the crossword puzzle! Really cool looking lighthouse too!

I just looked up where you are from on the Baltic Sea. My family came from Schlawe in Pommern.

This is so much fun!. I can hardly wait for the mailman to arrive each day.
All the cards have been beautiful and different.
I'm so glad I decided to do it.
Does the postcard exchange work the same way?

PCE does work the same way, Kay - only a longer time frame. Dave should be coming up with the new ones after the New Year?? :p

I got yours, Bob!

Mine may be a little...delayed. You know those twelve days of Christmas? Well, those still count, right?

Between printer problems and formatting problems and ink problems and paper problems and envelope problems and postage problems, everything got a little...lost.

We'll be heading down to the Outer Banks soon, so I won't have access to my printer, either, until we get back - otherwise I'd get them going. With the disorganisation that we've had this season, several things ended up "lost in the fray" - including the regular Christmas card, which is also going out post-Navidad.

Just think of it as the celebration that never ends... wink
