A few weeks ago, I saw a display of holiday Kleenex boxes at the grocery store. I saw that one of the boxes had a very cute lighthouse on it. Of course, I had to buy 2 boxes, even though I did not need any Kleenex that day. I put them under the vanity and just got the first one out yesterday. It will look so nice for the holidays! (my husband was laughing about this whole thing!!!). Maybe you will be able to find some of these cute boxes too- good luck!

During our annual NELL (New England Lighthouse Lovers) Christmas party a few weeks ago; Our club president passed these boxes out to the members. It makes for a cute Christmas decoration, I like it.

Kleenex boxes aren't the only topical merchandise this Christmas: I happened to be in our local Walmart in the photo frame section and found a plethora of plexiglass frames with Portland Head as the "default" photo within the frame.

And, a great many other frames had an unknown (to me) lighthouse, reminiscent of the California coast, in them.

This must be the year of the flame!

Bob,
I sincerely appreciate you mentioning, that WalMart has picture frames with California Lighthouse. I rarely see anything in Arizona with Lighthouses, but, then again there are no Lighthouses in Arizona.
How about a Saguaro Cactus?
Karen :-)

Well I better look for those tissues. My nose has been running since Thanksgiving!

When in Walmart looking for the calendar that features one of Rod's photos (sold out both times I looked) the employee who was trying to help me said, "Lighthouses are very popular now, you know." LOL

Noticed in K-Mart (or is it Big K?) today that they had some framed pictures of lighthouses. You can tell what kind of shopper I am frequenting such exclusive shops!

If you keep your eyes open, they're everywhere, they're everywhere!

my husband was in the local dollar store Wednesday night and said they were loaded with lighthouses! He said many of them looked like they were painted by a 5 year old, but some of them actually looked like they were worth buying! I had better get on over there to snatch some of these up! I am scheduled to preside for a worship service in February and the theme is "Let your light shine"- I know why I was scheduled for this service. The dollar LH might make a neat children's gift that day. We often do a children's story and then give them a small gift, etc to remind them of the story. Does anyone know any inspirational children's stories about LH that could be used as part of a worship service?

Since we're on the subject (sort of) check out Page 36 of the Lighthouse Depots new Holiday 99 catalog. Item#13275.

I'd like to read Bill's review.

This is at least the third year for the Kleenex holiday box with the lighthouse. Blue-ish box, village scene, black/white/red tower? Missed finding one the first year, but did get ahold of some last year. They are cute and make nice accents during the hollidays.

Still looking in Orlando. You'd think being in a state that is a peninsula, that the stores would be loaded with them. I also never found the lighthouse decorated paper towels that I think Eng. Brady mentioned months back. I guess Orlando isn't into lighthouse paper products. But I'll keep looking.

Hi Joanne,
I bought 3 of those Paper towels quite some time ago. No I won't be listing them on ebay anytime soon. LOL, I'm down to my last roll. I also bought 3 of the Kleenex boxes last year. Both of them are rather decorative for the price. I think the Kleenex box is a winter scene.

Look for Scotties "New Designs" box of 175. They have one with a lighthouse (look for a mostly blue box). I was at the store today and told myself, "There just has to be a lighthouse here". And sure enough, a little box management produced results! Being Scotties and not the "pull out one and another pops up" type means if you're kind to the box you can refill it.
