We have mostly completed PCE 20, so it is time to start up a new one. This will run from August 1 thru November 15. If you would like to participate please sign in below. Any questions, email me or post them. All Forum participants are invited to join in. This exchange is for post cards mailed in an envelope, not written on. Cards should be new and unused. Generally people include a little extra information about the light they selected, or perhaps share a lighthousing adventure involving the light.

Bob Scroope is #2, next person will be #3. Max is 25 participants plus our courtesy mailings. You will need a total of 28 cards if you want to keep a copy for yourself.

My offerings for this exchange went out in today's mail. As with PCE #23, again 22 cards went to 22 on the list and another different 3 went to the remaining 3. Hopefully they'll all be new to the recipient's collections. smile smile smile

You are very fast Dan.

I just completed all my envelopes and they will be in the mail first thing in the morning. The cards I sent are from a popular lighthouse but I have never received a card from it so I hope it's a new one.

I searched high and low for this lighthouse postcard. The one sent was the only card I found in my search. I call this packet the "before and after".

I received my envelope today from Dan & Carol. Very helpful enclosures. Thanks! laugh

Considering all the new cards I just bought...I didn't buy this one. This is another new card to add to my collection.

My batch goes out today from soggy central NY.
All the same, from an area my family likes to go to for a few days annually during our kids' spring break from school in mid-April. Which means there is still a chance for snow (until June) back home!

Yes, I had a case of those maps and put one in the folder that was given to each person on the boat trips.

Suzanne,

Picked up a batch of the maps at the Gooseberry State Park Visitor Center. I know you handed them out for the cruise and they were very nice. I thought they would be well received by others that didn't partake in our cruising adventures!! laugh

I received Bill's envelope in the mail today. I used to visit this lighthouse every year when my son was in college in the area. Now that he's graduated, I haven't seen it since 2001.

Received a card from Bill E. (Boomer Schooner?) today. Visited that light in May of this year after returning to Norfolk from a cruise to Bermuda. The day we visited it was not all that nice though .... wet and rainy!! frown From a distance, this light's paint scheme makes it look likes it's tilted like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. eek

Received Charles' card today. Nice write up, even gives you a little direction on seeing other lights in the area! If he mailed different cards of different lights, he sure had some writing to do! Good job.

Hey Dave, maybe I missed it in your letter with the postcard & photos. Which lites are in the pix? I'm guessing St. Helena Island & Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal, can't figure out the third one.
Did I get any correct? bill e.

Bill, when I include photos I use my extra copies from trips - don't list who gets what. Photos I used this time did include St. Helena and SB pictures so you are probably right.

Bill, maybe we got the same ones from Dave. I believe I have the two lights you mentioned plus Sherwood Point. Could that be the one you can't ID?

Thanks Dave, I like having the photos... Hi Mombo, we might have received the same 3 photos, but Sherwood Point is not the one I can't identify. Pictures I have in a couple of Great Lakes books of S-P don't match up with the photo.
It will be one of those back-burner projects I'll go back to, from time to time, to try to figure out, eventually, hopefully. bill e.

Hi Charles,

Was just joshing and tweaking the tail a little. I had hoped you were not mad or frustrated and glad to hear that was the case. laugh

With respect to trips in 2005, we haven't really laid out a plan yet. Our annual goal is to visit and photograph 100 lighthouses. Our year starts on October 1st and ends at 11:59 PM on September 30th. Why that is our year, I don't know. confused It's been that way for a long time and we're not motivated to change it. Up until now this year we have photographed 106 lighthouses. smile smile Possibilities for 2005:
* reunion on Mackinaw Island and any associated trips. Hope an Apostle Islands cruise could be worked out for that timeframe.
* would like to go on a tour of West Coast lights and hope the Pixie can get something organized.
* definitely want to get over into New England. There are many lights there we have not visited.
* would like to go along Lakes Erie and Ontario (MomboLand) and possibly around Lake Champlaign.
* possibly see Gulf Coast lights again if we decide to bail out of Meeeechegan for a part of the winter and go out to Arizona.

Will let you know if we get over into the LI area. We went to the long Island Regional last year but weren't able to get past the Gestapo to see Coney Island light. Maybe next time. confused

Be Well, Dan

You were lucky Bill. Last time around Dave sent me one I had a hard time figuring out. It took a bit of searching the web but I finally got it!

As long as we're just chit-chatting here I do want to thank Charles for his write-up. As Dave said, he must have had lots of different ones to do sending out different cards to everyone. Mine was of Plum Island, NY and included lots of neat info!

I received Bob Scroope's stirring postcard in envelope today! Neat addition to the envelope! Really cool!

The in envelope postcard wins. I didn't receive the out of envelope postcard, not yet anyway.
