Time kind of got away from me - its time to see if there is interest in another round of Post Card Exchanges. This one will be for cards sent the 'traditional' way, as a normal postcard with a short note.

This exchange will run from now until May 31 - 4 months. If you would like to participate, please sign in below. If you have not been in a recent exchange or if your address has changed please send me your correct mailing address. Limit 25 participants, plus potentially 2 'courtesy' cards. You would need a max of 27 cards (2 courtesy, 24 other players, 1 for yourself). While not required, it is helpful to send everyone the same card. Once we have reached capacity or I have decided to close the exchange, each participant will be sent a mailing list.

Got Charles' card around Friday...nice one! Hope to get out there either for the Challenge in May or in June before our annual sailing trip.

I have a backup stash still from a "secret location," but I want to see if I can get something fresh first. So I'll wait a little bit until I get out to see some more lighthouses (I can drive with my parents by the end of the week!).

Iris, got yours today! Nice card - one of my favourite of the few German lights I know. It made the Transatlantic journey well, too - no corner wear or marks (other than the barcode across the image). I rarely get intra-US cards this good!

Thanks for the neat card Iris. Like Bob said...it also included some bonus lighthouse stamps. It's fun to get cards from other regions of the world.

Bob, yours came today. Nice one! Made me remember Cape Cod...and then how I haven't seen a new lighthouse - or been lighthousing - since August (and that was taking the subway to Roosevelt Island, so it wasn't car-lighthousing. Haven't done that since November 2004. It's depressing.)

I might send mine from the OBX...but I did that last time, and it's kind of a "fallback" that I use too much I feel. Otherwise, though, the next time I'll see a lighthouse will be in June, when we're sailing to Newport. So it's a choice of boring or late.

Worse comes to worse, I have a stash from a secret place...

Got JoAnn's card the other day. Nice card, especially with the added reasoning. I don't remember hearing about that (may have missed it), but my deepest sympathies nonetheless.

Would it be okay if I waited until the end of the month - say, 24-25 June - to mail mine out? I'll be sailing around then, so I can pick up some nice cards from Newport for the exchange.

The first "trivia" question was more of a rhetorical question. I had been under the impression the Oak Island was the brightest light in the US, but the card identifies it as the second brightest in the US. So I put the question on there to see if anyone knew any differently and I guess you all don't. So unless anyone finds a reliable source that says otherwise, then I will still consider it the brightest. Now I have read that it is the second brightest in the world...the brightest being....????

Let me also add that I was saddened to read about your daughter's recent passing in April JoAnne. I'm sorry for your loss.

Mine went out today, thanks to my dad's friend/our sailing host this weekend. All the same...all been held on to for a year. They were supposed to send out from the destination depicted, but weather prevented that. I decided, I'm late, I'm just sending them out.

They're still witty, though.

After hauling cards with me to Mackinaw and Portsmouth (with the good intention of finding time to work on them) I finally put them in the mail yesterday.

I received Dave's card today. John and I saw and climbed that lighthouse for the first time last year before the HL Reunion on Mackinac Island.
