I received an old post card in the mail today from my mother-in-law in NY. It shows a picture of a lighthouse that says "Hudson River Coxsackie Lighthouse". On the back of the card it says,"The Lighthouse in Coxsackie New York was taken out of service in 1939 after close to a century of service". When I first looked at the picture I thought it was of Saugerties, NY.

Does anyone know of a lighthouse ever being in Coxsackie, NY?

I googled Coxsackie Lighthouse really quickly and I got this brief description:

Great looking lighthouse. Too bad it was torn down. Would make a fine HL of the Gone but not forgotten series.

Thanks for all your help. I have a book on New York lighthouses by Jim Crowley and it doesn't even mention a lighthouse ever existing in Coxsackie. The post card shows it as a red brick building. It looked really nice. Too bad it was torn down.
