Dave I think you deliberately snubbed me on this outing and now you are trying to make me feel guilty for missing it.

Received Suzanne's card today. She is getting everyone fired up for our outing next month.
Lorie,
I'm hurt that you would think I snubbed you. Actually, I was thinking it was just the opposite. . . . .

Received Derith's card today. A little frazzled around the edges but it certainly reminded me of our visit there early last year. Dan

My set of cards got put in the mail yesterday afternoon just before work. We made a quick weekend trip on the south western shores of Lake Michigan and didn't buy enough cards so some got different cards. Didn't want to be first to send out cards but really didn't want to be last !!!

Received Medicman's very cool card of the old Cleveland Light. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a light he saw on last weekend marathon sprint.....

Your card arrived yesterday Richard. Thanks for a new card and light I haven't seen yet. I am planning to see that light when I leave Door County next weekend. John and I hope to see all the lights along the Lake Michigan shore from Door County to Chicago. I'm still hoping for sunshine and somewhat warm weather.

I mailed my cards from town with the same name as a lighthouse only the cards were not from that lighthouse. The town was so small who knows when they will arrive but the General Store was built in 1851 and has the most fabulous Bavarian pretzels. The pretzels are soft dough stuffed with a sweetened cream cheese. Hope you all enjoy your cards. Judy

Good thing this is not the "in the envelope" exchange or the cards might arrive somewhat gooey!

Mine in the Mail today! See if you can guess when I visited this beauty. I have been saving these postcards since the visit. I remember the store clerk asking me what I needed all of the same for, and her thinking when told that it was a pretty cool idea. Bob

Carol & I just got back from a trip to Virginia and a cruise to Bermuda out of Norfolk. Received out of envelope cards from Sunshine, Shirin, and BobS while we were away. Nice cards all!! Bob: Are those sails out in the water or the fins of great whites???? Shirin: Wish we could have made it to the Headlights outing!! Judy: Did you see a deer running along the beach? The last time we visited the light a deer decided to visit it along with us!!

Bob, she probably sits at the computer with her new cheese wedge beer can holder. Just before she signs her posts she takes a sip, notices the mini-cheesehead so that is how she signs. . . . . .

Found that JoAnn's card did arrive while working through our mountain of mail that had accumulated. Isn't it wonderful that most of the postcard photos are taken on beautiful days. My recollection of a previous drive down the west coast is that there was a lot of fog and/or low clouds. Very nice card JoAnn .... THANKS Dan

Received John's card in yesterday's mail. A lovely card of Point Bonita, CA. Have never been there and wonder if I could ever get Carol to walk across the suspension bridge?? I think I know the answer to the trivia question posed ..... has a connection to the Civil War, right John???? Dan

The Doc's card arrived here as well yesterday. Real nice one, thanks! I know the answer to the trivia question but will let someone else post it. Now the question for Doc John is, did YOU walk over that bridge? Guess it's one of those "just don't look down" places!

Thanks Doc, This is one lighthouse I have not had the pleasure of visiting although it is on my top 5 list. The station's fog signal consisted of a surplus army cannon that was fired off by the keepers whenever the fog rolled in which was almost a daily occurance. The cannon was eventually replaced by a 1500 pound bell which the keepers struck with a hammer.

My post cards went in the mail today. This tower is not tall by lighthouse standards. It rises just 37 feet above the ground. And in its current surroundings, ringed by modern high rise apartments and condominiums it seems almost dwarfed. Any ideas? The answer will be revealed when you get your post card. Darlene

Mine went out in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately, they are a little out of date. I made them out during our game in Boston, and then they got packed in my hockey bag, which doesn't get much use these days.

Maybe they are of Deer Island which is located near Boston's sewage treatment plant, in which case they could be a little stinky anyway?

Well, it showed up here today. New card, Larry did a good job. Appears to have been aired out.

For those who are not a college sports fan...
The Frozen Four is the national championships for Mens's Ice Hockey. I work for Minnesota-Duluth during the season, and was blessed with an opportunity to spend 5 days in Boston in April. Unfortunately, we were beaten in the national semi-finals, but I had never been to Boston before, so it was an excellent experience. Spent Good Friday on the Freedom Trail, went to the Good Friday service at the Old North Church (a treat for me as a history buff).
The intention was to mail them from Boston, but well, I just never got around to finding a mailbox...

Nice Card Larry! I received it on Friday. It does appear to have aired out before arrival!

Received your card today Larry, very nice thanks! (Even though it seems that a certain popular ME lighthouse was transplanted to MA! )

This thread is continued here . There are still 6 folks who have to send cards before we can start a new exchange.
