(The mule was a little tuckered out so let him rest a bit and fed him before giving him a smack on his backside and sending him back to NC. wink

Suzanne,

Just received your postcard today. That is a very nice picture of Sand Hills LH. Thanks. Sounds like you had a great lighthouse experience in July. Ten lighthouses in one trip - that's great!

Received your card yesterday Suzanne and I thank you very much. It seems that erosion is going to take that birch tree before long. And yes that LH is certainly unique! It sounds as though you had a very nice cruise also. smile

Can anyone remind me exactly when the last day of this exchange is? I haven't yet located a card I haven't sent before and I'd like to know exactly how much time I have left to find one. Thanks.

A card, a card, a card arrived today! Thanks Derith. smile The only view I've gotten of that light was at night from the ferry and only saw the light itself. On the ride over in the morning, wouldn't you know it, we had fog.

My cards for this exchange have been mailed this morning. It had been my intent for this exchange to mail you all a Hawaii lighthouse card while I was there (I had taken the address labels with me). But believe it or not Ripley, I could not find a single lighthouse postcard in any of the shops I visited in Honolulu or Kona...and I visited alot! However, I have a stash built up from prior trips so I was still able to send you all a very nice card. Trivia question answers will be posted here in about a week.

Thanks to everyone for all the great cards I have received! Looking forward to the next exchange.

John

Had the same problem finding LH cards in Hawaii, Doc! Considered going into business making them. Only ones I found were of Kilauea Point on Kauai at their giftshop. I took one of everything they had but they were only for that light.

Well, I'm getting them out with time to spare- not much, but it is before the deadline.

They'll be in the mail in the morning.

Now I have to get working on the tougher one- in envelope #14.

I'll have a go at his trivia question #1 and let someone else take #2, unless I'm wrong, then both 1 and 2 are available. Seems like it's got to be Edward Hopper?

Hi,
I received 4 lovely postcards for PE #15 this week. Thanks Donna, Suzanne, Derith, and John.
A friend of mine was a volunteer "Lightkeeper" at Nobska during the summers - uniform and all.
He took us for a "private" tour of the light when we went up there to visit him. (That was about 3 years ago.)
Took the Ferry to see the Roundout Lighthouse last summer. The ferry captain (she) turned out to be a friend of mine from the past. She was a captain on the Hudson River sloop "Clearwater."

Have not yet seen the Sand Hills LH or the Cape Elizabeth Light. Enjoy your trivia questions John. I 'll try to do some research on them.

Can't wait for the next Post Card exchange. Will it be #16?

So-long for now, JoanieO smile smile

We'll let you off the hook on this one, Laurie, since they had the stamps on them today! Looking forward to getting your card.

Seems to me there are still several more stragglers - if someone needs help with cards or such, let either myself or Shirin know and we will see how we can help.

My trivia question answers:

Sue is correct..."The Lighthouse at Two Lights" was painted by Edward Hopper and if you want to see it in person you should go to The Metropolitan Museum Of Art in NYC. Here's a link:

Oh boy! My most sincere apologies. I prepared all my postcards for exchange #15 right after New Years. Even wrote a small holiday greeting on them. Stuck them in my desk drawer and forgot to send them. We just moved into a new house, and low and behold guess what I just discovered...postcards. They'll go out tomorrow. Sorry shocked !

By now most people in this exchange should have received their late entry from Judy (Sunshine). Little late, but it is a great card!

This should complete PCE 15.
