OK boys and girls, this is the official notice for the next out of the envelope postcard exchange. This exchange will run from June 15 to September 15th, 2003. Note that this is a three month period. Reasoning for this is that if we can complete this exchange in a timely manner we can sneak in another exchange this year before the holiday season gets the better of us. Last year we had 4 out of the envelope exchanges, including one overlap exchange. This year we've only had 1 so far. This exchange is limited to 25 participants and will also include Harbour Lights and Connie Small. So including a card to save for yourselves you will need a total of 27 cards. Please do not sign up if you don't think that you will be able to send cards by the September 15th deadline. New participants are, as always, welcome but the first 25 on board will fill this exchange. After signing up please send me an email with your screen name plus your real name and your mailing address. Once I get them I'll have to try to figure out how to set it up for labels and get the list back to you. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me at lefever@mindspring.com. I'll sign on as #1. In addition I'll also sign on those who have previously indicated their desire to participate. If any of these next folks have changed their minds let me know ASAP. #2. rscroope #3. sunshine #4. LADYBUG #5. Pharologst #6. JoanieO Who's next?

I'll be 'lucky' 13! Sue, please email me on how this works as I have never participated before. I think I understand, but want to make sure.
Thanks,

Here's the gist of my answer to Mel who is in at #13, if any other PC Exchange "Newbies" want to join in and aren't sure how the exchange works.
"It's easy. You buy 27 postcards that have a lighthouse on them. They can be all the same card or different cards. Most people usually send all the same card but not all. You keep one card and send one to each of the other participants during the specified timeframe. We have tradionally included Harbour Lights in the exchanges and sometimes Connie Small.
You'll get a list of the particpants and their addresses. If I can figure out how to set them up for labels and you have label sheets to print on you just peel and stick them. If you don't like me you have to write them out or cut up the list and tape it onto the card!
(That sounds weird. Like if I get cards from people that are hand addressed or taped on I will know that your really don't like me!)
You also write a message on the card. Some folks write up the history of the lighthouse, while others simply say something like, "We saw this light last summer." Some people also type out their message and either stick or tape it on. Also note somewhere on the back of the card PCE 17."

I'm in again. I'll even try and get them out a bit earlier this time. It should be easier- several Lighthouse related trips in this time period. I can stock up for the future. Mombo if you have trouble with the labels let me know- I've got Avery wizard and it works great. It's a free download from www.avery.com Dennis

Thanks Dennis, #16. If I have problems I'll be asking for your help. I'm not going to even try to attempt the list until after the holiday weekend as I'm looking at a possible 6 overnighters, 4 of them kids, yikes. Besides which I have another plumbing problem being worked on currently, and ... well you just don't want to know any more!

George, I think Darlene means that for this exchange you are already signed up as #5. See Sue's post that started sign ups for this exchange where she listed individuals who had previously expressed intterest in this exchange. You then also put yourself in at #25. So, there should still be one spot open for someone else for this exchange at #25 since you already have your #5 slot. I don't think Darlene was refering to PCE #5.

There are a number of people who have signed up for this exchange who have not sent cards for a previous exchange(s).
I'd like a positive reply from these folks that they will be honoring past committments and will be able to fulfill their obligation for this exchange within the allotted timeframe.
If I don't receive an answer from these people within a few days I think we should open those spots to others.
