Ok folkes I received the Round Robin #1 today. I have picked out my card (well two) and replaced them with two of my own. The Robin is now ready to mail out again. Will be on its way to John Monday morning!

Oh and by the way, BonnieJean was right it is fool proof! She has done an excellent job of preparing this thing. smile smile smile

Steph,

I'm glad to hear that you received the Round Robin and that it was easy to understand. I sent it out late Tuesday afternoon and you received it Saturday, so it took about 3 days to get to you. Thats good to know. (They must be using Racing Snails this year, maybe the 3¢ stamp increase was a good idea - now they can afford to feed the snails their Wheaties!) :p

I'm curious - what two cards did you pick?

Can't wait to see you at Sanibel.

BJE

By the way: Will I be getting a WACKO badge to proudly wear at our meeting?

Got one more post to WACKOdom, BJ. Then you have to send all the rest of the WACKOs their KKs.

But, sorry no pin comes without cost. You can order your WACKO 2002 Badge from Dave H. Most of the cost goes to support this year's choice of WACKOs -- SE Block Island RI.

I'll post my congratulations on making WACKO right here - knowing that by the time I finish MY post, your 50th will no doubt be found somewhere on the Forums.

Great! I look forward to receiving the Round Robin. I will take out the cards I like, replace them with other Lighthouse cards, will mix the mailing order and possibly add another name or two and will send them out. I will post the mailing order as soon as I receive the robin. smile

I have not received the round robin yet, hopefully it will be in today's mail. smile I will be going to three lighthouses this weekend, so I will also be able to stock up on some more cards. wink

I'll post the new mailing order as soon as I receive the cards. Please also be aware that from now on I will be using everyone's forum name instead of their real name on the posts.

Okay, I received the Round Robin today as I figured I would. Though I'm wondering if the rules I sent along with the Robin are clear enough. When I stated that this was a Lighthouse Postcard Round Robin, how many people understood that you were suppose to be trading/swaping Lighthouse postcards? I guess it was the Robins first time around and still new to everyone, but I tried to make the rules as clear as possible.

I'm glad I started the robins off small so that mistakes were easy to find and weed out. George P, please contact me about the Round Robin. You placed 6 non-Lighthouse postcards in the robin, not giving John & Karen the full 10 LIGHTHOUSE postcards to choose from. Plus you didn't post when the robin was received or sent and you didn't place the rules/mailing list back into the robin as stated on the rules to the next person on the list. If you are not a forum member and are only a visiting guest that peeks in from time to time, please email me so that we can clear up this issue. I know that it has to be you that made the mistake since all 6 cards were from Wells, Maine. This problem can easily be solved, so please contact me ASAP, otherwise I will have to drop you from the Robin. Thank you.

I am sorry John & Karen for the mistake - I will send the Round Robin this next trip to you first.

Thank you everyone else for your quick responses and the following of the rules. I hope you enjoy the Robin as much the second time as you did the first. smile

George P. has not responded to my letter or this post, so I have removed him from our Round Robin List. Because John & Karen were only sent 4 Lighthouse cards to choose from, I have decided to send the robin to them first this time.

Round Round #1-1 is as follows:

1) ktamlin - La Porte, IN
2) Shortcake - Mobile, AL
3) Randy Kremer - Mason, OH
4) JOllet - Cape Coral, FL
5) JChidester - Scottsdale, AZ
6) Me - Brooksville, FL

Please post here when you receive and send the Round Robin. Thanks!

Jollet is new to the Round Robin, but I believe she will do great - if you have any questions when you receive the robin, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks. Hope you enjoy the robin and it was great meeting you at Sanibel. smile

BonnieJean are you going to mix in any names from other robins as this gos along? confused You know like adding 1 & 2 together, or 1 & 3 together, or ...... So that we can all get cards from more areas, rather than just rotating the same old names. I ask this because I see you have a new name on RR #3 from HI and I'm sure we would all love to get some of those cards!!!! cool

I have thought about changing names in some of the round robins, but right now they are still a bit new. I am trying to keep the robins to about 8 names per robin, otherwise the robins take a long time to get to each person and everyone gets tired of waiting. If everyone is in agreement and Glennys of Hawaii is really interested in exchanging postcards, maybe I will add Hawaii to more than two robins. I usually only place a person on one or two robins to keep it fair for everyone else, but in this case everyone may be willing to allow me to bend the rules. Let's hear it - cast your vote here Round Robin Rules Bend??

The Round Robin is on its way to Arizona, John
Sorry about the delay. We have been busy hosting a 100th Birthday party for my mother-in-law and entertaining out-of-town relatives that I've never met and my husband hasn't seen since he was a kid. To top it off she had a mild stroke a week before her birthday and is now in a nursing home and we are busy visiting with her in Bradenton. Dressed her up and took her in a wheel chair to her party. Don't think she'll be able to go back to independent living in her apartment.

Anyway, I just took one postcard of South Carolina lighthouses, and replaced it with one of Sanibel LH.

You should receive them by the end of the week.

Okay, I received the Round Robin #1-1 today. There were some great cards to add to my collection! I am going to exchange all 10 of the cards (all of them from the East Coast) and will replace them with cards from Michigan. I hope the next person in line will be able to use them. smile I will work up the next mailing list and will post it later.

If any of you would like to do a one time exchange just between you and I, please let me know. I purchased over 300 cards while in Ohio and Michigan. I will trade in groups of 5 or 10. The deal on this personal trade will be that you will have to take all 5 or 10 and exchange with 5 or 10 from your own collection. Anyone interested can email me and I'll send them off the next day (remember I will be gone 12/15 thru 12/27). Thanks. cool

eek OK folks it's time for a VOTE ! eek

You may or may not want to vote me out of all future mailings. I would like to stay in, but it's up to you all.

Here's the situation: As of January 5, I will going up to Georgia to work a construction job. I will be there for an estimated 6 months, working 7-10's. I will be taking my computer with me, but wont have much time to be on it. frown May check and post to the Forum only once a week.

Now for the real problem: I will be having my mail forwarded to me in GA! This will mean a delay in my receiving the Round Robins. My address will remain the same. My mail will be collected and forwarded to me in bulk once a week. Depending on when the RR arrives at my mail box it could be as much as two weeks before I actually get it in my hands. frown

I have lots of postcards ready to exchange, and will take them to GA with me, so I can get it back out and on it's way the next day after receiving it. But are you all willing to wait the week or maybe two for the forwarding? That is the question! You vote and I will except your answer!

Well, Stephanie, since you ask . . .
You obviously will make it okay for this round so that's not a problem. As for the second round I think we should just put you at the end of the list and keep you in the round robin. Since this is my first round robin, not sure how long it takes to get it all the way around. I vote you stay in.

This is my first go around and it was fun getting the packet and trying to decide which three to take out since I had three from Washington to add . . . I took Whitefist Point, Manistee and Point Betsie; none of which I have had the pleasure of visiting.

Have a good holiday. Where in Georgia are you going? I was born in Atlanta and raised in LaGrange. Moved to Washington in 1971 from Columbus.

Thanks Darlene! smile I appreciate your vote, and I don't mind going to the back of the pack at all. That sounds fair to me! The only person that would have to come after me is BonnieJean, and I know that she will work with me on this.

As for where in GA: It just so happens to be in your old back yard! If you were to draw a triangle between La Grange, Newnan and Carrollton, then the job site would be right in the center of that triangle. I will be at "Plant Wansley" the Power Plant. The address there is Franklin, GA but really the plant isn't in any township at all. I will be living in a Motel in Carrollton, GA for the duration of my stay there.

Stephanie

That's 1 out of 7, what do the rest of you think?

As I stated in Round Robin #5 - if you give me the address of where you will be staying we will not have any problems what-so-ever. We will send the robins directly to your place of stay and you can send them out from there. When you get back home we will change your address to your usual address and no harm will be done. This way there will be no delay and you will still be able to enjoy the robins and we can still enjoy your additions. smile

I would like to be able to give you the Motel Address, but if you knew the desk clerk you wouldn't even ask for it! She has the intelligence of a moron. I really believe the best thing for me to do is just get one bulk package a week and not confuse her with daily mail.
