Yes
You are right Bob.
A GGGB was for sale for retail on this forum.
A mater of fact it was for sale right after the ones on ebay were going for twice as much.
I was surprised and figured that the seller didn't follow ebay and thought since Harbour Lights have been selling low that he would just sell it for a price that he knew he could get for it.
I agree with you Bob that collectors are probably not big on collecting Bridges. But I disagree when it comes to the Golden Golden Gate Bridge. It follows into an other collectable category. The extremely rare gold plated pewter figurines by Harbour Light.
As collectors win the gold plated event and regional pieces they probably will also want to collect as many of the Gold plated pieces as they can. The GGGB is the most reasonable and easiest to find. At least that was my thinking.
I feel that the value of the GGGB is a strong $450 to $550
Yes it doesn't surprise me that a store still has one for retail. I talked to a collector that acquired a low two digit California made, Old Point Loma with Brown Box from a dealer just three years ago.
