I just paid a quick visit to eBay and noticed there were 259 HL's offered at this time. As I was going through the pages, I noticed very few bids so I decided to count how many of the 259 items offered actually had a bid on it. My quick count revealed only 46 items had at least one bid.

Is everyone waiting to the last few hours to bid on an item on eBay? Is bidding really slow because they are no real interesting pieces being offered? Is the secondary market getting worse on HL's?

IMHO some of the pieces have starting prices that may be a bit too high, or the S & H seems higher than normal, $14/$15 to ship one piece. (I realize that the amount is made up of the actual shipping fee and then added to it are the materials, box, peanuts, bubble wrap, and that these costs add up.)

I do bid on something immediately if I want to keep track of it, but many times will lose the item because the auction end is during the day and I am at work.

Other factors I have considered is that the seller has low sell numbers. Something I have started looking at since a recent "burn" on a Cape Elizabeth that arrived damaged due to extremely poor packing.

Lastly, alot of the pieces I am seeing I already have, or have no interest in buying. I buy the lights that "strike my fancy", something about them that is different, the location, tower type, even the name. smile

and it's getting close to summer, and summer is historically slow for everything on ebay. we do some selling and basically just quit in the summer. it's not worth the trouble.
