I just purchased Pt Arena on Ebay(hasn't arrived yet) for $85.00. Knowing the history of this HL, I felt it was a great deal. With its history of breakage and with only producing 5436 of them,I am wondering why this particular light is not skyrocketing out of sight on the market? It's a beautiful piece and there is possibly only 3000 left unbroken. Any speculations? -Joe

My guess is that about 2000 unbroken ones survived. And that number continues to dwindle as secondary shipments sustain breakage too.
A couple of years ago, I surmised that perhaps 700 collectors held those 2000 and in an informal survey, when someone had a Point Arena, they had more than one.
So long as a large number of collectors have extras, the price won't rise substantially.
I certainly think that by now those 2000 pieces would have dispersed some and expect you'll see a rise up into the high $100s to mid $200s in the next six months.
You got a great buy on e-bay.
