I am thinking about selling my collection, is there a site, magazine, book or etc. that could give me some direction on how to price these items?
Your help will be appreciated...
thanks

Best Bet is probably start here at the Marketplace. At least you'll be sure they get good homes. Bob

I agree with bob, start in the Marketplace see what others have listed them for.
Go backa bit and see if the posts have been upadted with sales (some are , most are not).
You might also want to do a search on ebay for recent sales to see the range of prices there.
Keep in mind that many times on ebay people don't bid smartly, they get into the frenzy and it can affect the final price. You want to go with a price that is averaged between the highs and lows .
Also, keep in mind quite often those listing HL's on ebay don't have a clue as to their value.
Also, the people you deal with on the Marketplace generally have a better idea as to what a HL piece is and it's worth. There is also a better chance of no problems with misrepresentation, etc on the Marketplace.
There are no guarantees, but it's less risky. I've been lucky- I have not been burned at either site.
You might also want to check out the Retired @ Retail section on the HL site to see which ones are readily available and which ones are not.
This can also affect the price you can ask for.

Thanks this helps. This is going to be a "must" sale and I do not want to "rip" anyone off nor do I want to have to "give" them away either.
Again thanks.

If you have excel the 2000 spreadsheet on the first page of this forum will give you a starting point. Some of the lighthouses are going for less than they did then but several such as Ocracoke have actually gone up since 2000. Art and a couple others didn't track all of the lights but it might help you a little bit in finding a price range.
