I just left E-Bay and noticed the below auction. This is one that bears watching. I already know that this is out of my price range.

Harbour Lights Set of 4 w/ Commemorate Stamps

That should be an interesting auction, Jim. My guess is the top bid will be between $700-$750. That would be a bargain for those four.

given the fact that Hatteras sells for $600+ by itself lately, this could be interesting to watch

Kind of strange that this package has gotten 3 bids by the same bidder within a few minutes. Apparently testing to see what the reserve was.

Given the "Buy It Now" still appears at $1,000, I'd say the reserve is a lot closer to $1,000 than the $100 that the only bidder so far has probed to.

(I thought the "Buy It Now" option disappeared after any bid was made. Has that changed? Does it now disappear only after the reserve has been met?)

Also, I note that the seller has stolen the images used from the official web site, in violation of copyright law and the copyright notice that appears via link on almost all the pages at www.HarbourLights.com.

On a reserve auction, "Buy It Now" disappears when the reserve is met, and thus the item is officially "sold".

I paid $1200 for eight or nine of the original 17 at Thanksgiving time. Either the Hatteras piece is commanding a big chunk of this asking price, or the value of all the pieces in the auction have gone up since then.

Ha! The final bid (someone waited until the last possible second) was $1040. They should have hit "Buy Now"---they would've saved 40 bucks.

Overall, though, probably a fair deal.

It's nice to see some people are still willing to pay a premium price for HL's. Of course, those were four very special HL's.

I wonder if it was anyone from the CF?

Yes - certainly the largest dollar chunk of this offering is the #102R. However, long time Collectors will also recognize Sandy Hook as a true rarity comparable to pieces such as the original S.E. Block Island or Burrows Island.
