I watched the bidding close on a Split Rock, MI piece last night. Exciting watching the bidding jump over a $1000 in the last minute to close at $2025. E-bay is a valuable sorce as to the true value of the various lighthouses. I see secondary dealers asking astronomical prices for pieces that are selling for much less on e-bay. Everyone who collects Harbour Lights can see who is paying what for which pieces, trends in the market and so on. Collectors should be watching the close on the Coquille tonight, just for the fun.

Hi Gary, ... You're right on the money when you say eBay prices on HLs can be very interesting. I check eBay about six times a day, usually looking for the rare opportunity to get an exceptionally good deal.

heart to see it jump that fast.
I watched that piece 15 times a
day to make sure it didn't move
but I knew the competition was
out there lurking in the shadows.
I wasn't taking any chances with
a proxy bid of $2,500.01. I just
knew I had to have that little
bugger, even if it meant eating
wallpaper paste and water for the
next 3 months. This piece would
never have went for $2,025 if it
was bought from a dealer. Thank

I agree, ebay is a good place to check current secondary market prices.

E-bay has become my place to hang out on slow forum nights. But I have to disagree with you. I've seen great flux's in prices on the same light just one day apart. I recently watched a Middle Bay go for $120.00 and three days later go for $85.00. I use my book to determine the secondary price and then just like to sit back and see how close it gets to that estimate. I still find the best place to do business is in the Marketplace
