There is a person who is selling his Swarovski crystal box for $3.50, first bid. I thought it was too funny. Now people are selling their boxes, not the contents. Wow, just think, I could empty out my front closet and make enough to buy the Liberty piece at the same time.

Besides our beloved HL's, I've been collecting certain Lionel Trains. I too have seen empty LT boxes for sale. Some have sold for $30 or more. It's unbelievable what some people will pay for empty boxes, if they are the right box.

Boxes have no meaning to me when I can get a deal on something I want for a good price.

Mombo,

You don't want to search on packing peanuts on eBay, cause you will usually find them. Someone has been selling them for quite some time. Yes, I am serious. They sell them in large quantities for shipping!!!

Michael specializes in slot cars from the 60's and 70's on eBay and we had a lot of empty boxes for old Aurora products. We were giving them away to our regular customers and then decided to see what would happen if we put one up for bid. We got $15.00 for an empty box and $12.50 for only a box top! And we thought the HL boxes were important to some of us Wackos! Slot car guys are serious about their boxes!

My Father-in-law collects Fire Trucks. He has been collecting them for many years. He inquired about the going price of one of his older pieces at a show last year. The dealer said it was worth $50.00, and if he had the box in which it came in, it was worth $200.00! Does that make sense? He kept all his boxes from his purchases in the past, but should the box be worth 3 times the price of the Fire Truck! I don't think so!

Regading the selling of Swarovski boxes
on ebay.

I collect Swarovski crystal, and I wouldn't
dream of throwing the boxes away! There are
times when I change my displays, and the
crystal goes back in the original box. If I
change living arrangements, I will be very
happy that I kept the boxes.
Many collectors purchase the piece, and
toss the box. Then something changes, and
they find that they need the box. OR a piece
is broken, and then there is the box that is left over. So sell it!!!
In this collectible world, it is amazing
what a collector will buy.

....I've got some donut-holes to sell, but they're not just any ordinary donut-holes...these were once in the possession of....of.....of somebody important.....I think it was Monty Python or maybe Jack Benny. Are they worth anything if the folks on e-bay just take my word for it?

I can't image selling my boxes but I would be willing to rent them out to give myself some extra storage space.
