A lot has been written about the value of having the origional Harbour lights boxes. I like many threw away the boxes until I started reading how much more the lighthouse would bring with the origional box. This opinion has changed many times during the pase several years. This is not what this post is about.

I was wondering if Harbour Lights would consider selling empty boxes of various sizes? There are tens of thousand made every year. Why can't they be sold to collectors? Next the labels. They could also be produced as a set, like the tent cards are. Affixing the label to the boxes and adding the serial number, just below it would be no problem.

Any comments?

Harry

Don't know whether this is true or not, but, years ago when they stopped selling boxes separate without labels(the labels were free and the boxes were $2.50) the reason I heard was the dealers complained because people would steal the lighthouse and then would call Harbour Lights for a box. I don't know if this was true or not so I wouldn't take it to the bank for deposit.

Rich cool

I thought that I read somewhere that people still write to HL and have boxes sent. I know that some of the boxes I have arrived damaged with dents and small tears and that some dealers write the price on the box in ink. I don't know whether that will alter value or not

Harbour Lights no longer supplies empty boxes. That ended several years ago.

The labels used on the boxes are identical to the labels used on the bottom of the pieces. You can obtain free labels from Harbour Lights.

We have called HL many times for tent card and COAs on items and they have been wonderful. They did say that they do not make 'extra' boxes but just recently they were able to get us one for Rockland Breakwater - it was probably a lucky fluke but never hurts to ask we figure. cool
