Anybody see this one? Retired Harbour Lights Lighthouses Item # 3228893470- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3228893470&category=11132 Looks like 52 lighthouses for one price-currently $86.77 Also this is a quote from the auction "all lighthouses come in original boxes and all original information. Most not taken out of their boxes. I will ship." Does this mean she will cover the shipping too? Also note number 12.

Jim,
I saw that auction when it was first listed.
I sent an e-mail to the seller that they might want to pull that auction as they seem to have made a mistake.
I'm surprised that anyone bid on the auction. Two out of the three of the bidders have almost no feedback themselves.
I can't believe that anyone could seriously believe they could enforce any win in that auction. It's obvious that the seller doesn't have a clue.

I emailed her also and told her that it was a misleading ad.
I even asked her if she was going continue to let me know.
She never answered the email.
The postage is more that the bid and I also can't imagine it being a group auction. It is as its a post in the marketplace and she wants the same price for each one.
It would be nice to find out what happens.

I didn't notice the one in the Marketplace.
The bidding is up to $400.00 with less than a day to go. I doubt anyone is ever going to see those Lighthouses.

Just ran a quick pricing of the pieces listed using Greenbook GBTru prices which are outdated and probably high.
Ten of the pieces (#2, 4, 8, 11, 12, 32, 34, 38, 41, 42 [believe she's reversed the HL number on 42 and 43] are GLOWS and #45 and #47 might be GLOWS (can't be sure because there's no serial number). The GLOWS values in 1998/1999 total $665+ (Greenbook didn't have a price on Barnegat [#4]).
The remaining pieces (except for #51 which Greenbook doesn't list and #17 & #21 which Greenbook doesn't have prices on) total $4,340 if #45 and #47 are Limited Editions.
She's got at least 12 of the Original 17 if someone wants to mix and match HL and GLOWS (#8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 27, 28, 35, 36, 38, 48, 50).
A number of years ago, I recall a newspaper article about a woman selling a Cadillac for $1. When she was interviewed and asked why, she told the reporter that a judge had ordered her to sell the vehicle and give the proceeds to her late husband's mistress to settle the mistress's claim against the estate. Maybe a similar thing is happening here. . .
In any event, even if Greenbooks pricing is out of date, whoever wins this auction will be getting some nice pieces for a fraction of what s/he would have paid individually for the pieces, even at eBay's current sales.

If all does work as listed, and I hope it does for those bidding, the shipping will be as much if not more than the current bid price.
As stated above "BUYER BEWARE"

I don't think the winning bidder is going to get what they think, if anything.
This person has not answered questions posed to them from me or others.
There are too many unanswered things with this auction. I'd steer clear.
Of course somebody may make a killing if the seller comes through as they are supposed to.

The auction is over. It topped out at $560.
The winner is a new member of eBay and the seller has no feedback either. I just don't quite trust this one.

I also sent email to the seller and questioned her regarding the listing for the 52 lighthouses -- was she aware that she was autioning off the entire collection starting at $80. She sent me back a note and said she was new to EBay and should have listed them separately with a start bid at $80 each. Noticed she was in Bradenton, FL and wondered if someone had left the collection to her and she didn't really know what she had, which if that's the case, would hate to think she got ripped off. Would love to hear the outcome of it all.

I wrote to the buyer and asked if the sale was finalized and was seller going to absorb the shipping (statement in auction unclear) and are pieces in pristine condition. His response was that seller had not acknowledged his win and he wouldn't be surprised if he didn't hear from her at all. I replied to that message and asked him to let me know final outcome.
I don't see where the seller is getting ripped off--somebody within this group (forgive me for not remembering the name) wrote to her when the auction was posted and suggested that the information was misleading and she should pull the plug. She certainly had plenty of time to so do even if she is new to eBay and had to spend a lot of time finding out how to do that. I'm tickled for the buyer and hoping it works out for him.
