ebay listing
I saw this listing last night and thought I would post for those that might be interested in watching to see what it goes for.

The seller definitely knows what they have and has described it fairly.

I think i'll pass, though.

Out of my price range at the moment!
Be interesting to see if there are any takers.

You bet there will be! If I had some extra cash, I would sure bid on it!

If I had the extra cash I would buy it and take it with me to the range the next time I go Skeet shooting. I would love to see what my 12 gauge would do to a Coquille. Of course I would video tape it for my fellow forum members viewing pleasure. But since I did not win the lottery last weekend I don't have the extra cash to do so.

The $1200 minimum bid should be considered more of a "For Sale" price. Under the current state of the economy in collectibles that is a fair asking price.

Personally, I think the seller should have set a much lower bid to get the ball rolling, and could have protected his or her investment with a reserve price. The idea is to get people into a bidding war towards the end.

 Bob

Just noticed Bob that you haven't been around the forums as long as I have, and may have missed a few things. I have stated on numerous occasions that I would not own an original Coquille, even if it were given to me. In fact if I ever win one in a raffle I have promised to give it to one of the forum members, I need to look back through some of the older posts on this subject and see who that is. I have stated many times in the past, I do not have any desire for any HLs prior to the Southern Bells. As far as I am concerned they do not exist and my collecting dollars will not be wasted on the early pieces.

Unless of course I can do something fun with them like John's Harbour Light in the dishwasher, or maybe recreate that old picture of Bill Younger taking a sledge hammer to some original molds, or in the case of Coquille, PULL!

Don't remember that offer Eric, but I know it wasn't me . . . . probably the Pixie.

You were right Grace, someone did bid and win it for $1,200.00.

Well, unlike Eric, I would love to have more of the early models - I just have a few but will continue to try to get a couple more.
