I saw this yesterday, while I was browsing thru ebay. A little fleck here and there is one thing, but this.... At least they showed the pictures. I know people that would call that near mint smile

Sad thing is, these are all old lights.... frown

And 7 bids, top being $32.50...If you don't care about condition, than you're OK, but if you are like 99.9999999999999% of us, you do. I don't think that a serious HL collector is buying these.

What a shame to what looks to be the start of a collection. Lesson learned dont store your lights in a hot attic.

I took a quick look at the pics at that eBay auction. Maybe the description should have read like this:

"From a smoking household with five cats, three very tall dogs with long wagging tails. All these pieces have been displayed since we got them and our children just love to take them to the beach and play with them in the sand. What a wonderful addition these pieces would make to your children's toy box. No need to insure these bad boys. What else could possibly happen to them?"

Hmmmmm - can't help but wonder what the buyers who are bidding are planning to do with these battered beauties. Maybe "artfully" touch 'em up and resell them?

To tell you the truth, I had thought of bidding on them and letting my 83 year old aunt repaint them. She's quite an artist and repainting those pieces would have been a nice challenge for her.

A repainted HL isn't worth much in most collector's eyes, but to someone who is missing a piece for his or her collection, it could be the answer at the right price.

I thought of bidding on them also, for a similar reason. I wanted to pratice on doing Harbour restoration. These peices could be a great warm up. laugh

Someone should note the numbers on these so that we can watch for repainted ones back on ebay. Situations like this are ones for beginners to be wary of. frown
