Anyone have an idea for a value on this one. I have seen the society piece on Ebay, but never the attendee.

Am I confused or what? HL616 isn't the Attendee piece. I thought that 614 and 615 (miniature) are the attendee pieces. I don't have either one but would love to have one.

Rose Island Large Attendee piece is #614, Miniature Attendee piece is #615 and Large non-attendee piece is #616.

That's what I thought! The one advertized on eBay is 616 and I know this isn't an attendee piece.

How did that debate get started? I never even mentioned an HL number. I just was asking for the value of the attendee piece.

Good question. I think a lot of things are just read into the posts. This is what makes these posts enlightening and informative. Don't take away our fun of inseting our own opinions and ideas. If you ask a question you never know what your going to get for the answer and that's the best part of these Forums.

Now for the answer for what is the value of an attendee Rose Island: It is whatever you can get for it because I have had a miniature Rose Island for sale on the Marketplace for over 6 months now and can't get a buyer so obviously I'm asking too much for it or the right buyer has now seen it yet. Will I lower my asking price for it? Who knows because I may already be asking less then what it is worth. I know in my mind that I am, but, the potential buyer must still think it is too much. The same rational will hold for the large attendee piece. You can only sell something for what the general public is willing to pay for it.

Rich cool

Lou mentioned that there was a Rose Island for sale on EBay and wondered what the price was. There was no link to the auction included. Bert probably went to EBay, looked it up ( is this the one? ). In the write up, the implication is that this was from the Reunion, some may have taken the wording that this was the attendee piece. Bert questioned which versin 616 is. Rich confirmed for him that the piece was in fact the Society version.

More than you asked for, but because a collector wanted to be sure any value figures mentioned would be for the correct piece. (The attendee piece would be more valuable than the non-attendee due to lower production.)

Just a SWAG, IMHO, (and be greatful I didn't thro in REXA and REXM. . .)

Sorry Lou, I don't know the current secondary price. Perhaps somebody else will have the answer.

O.K. Let me try this again. I have seen the society piece on ebay (with bids). I have not seen the attendee pieces on ebay (with bids). I figure that the attendee pieces would be better to get if I can, but I have no idea what a reasonable price might be. There is one in the marketplace for two hundred something, but I don't think it has sold. I like to do my part to keep the secondary market going, but I've got a budget.

Has anyone out there bought or sold one in the last 6-12 months?

The piece that I saw advertized on eBay was the 616. THe seller mentioned that it was from the reunion and I was checking the number that he gave. 616 was the society piece and 614 and 615 are the attendee pieces. I believe that he was trying to put one over on some unsuspecting buyer.

Bert

Lou would like a price for the attendee piece. Forget the Society Version, he never asked for it. Anybody got one for sale? Email him. laugh

That piece on the Marketplace is mine Lou and I have sent you an private E-mail on it. I tried to explain above in a previous post that the market value on these MINIATURE and LARGE ATTENDEE PIECES is what the buyer is willing to pay and what the seller is willing to take. The Miniature piece was only available at the Reunion and they also had a Large attendee piece slso only available at the Reunion. Harbour Lights did made a large Non-Reunion piece available for the non-attendee Society members that could be bought true HL dealers. Is this confusing?

I think you have been perfectly clear Lou-we just tend to wander from the subject around here. I haven't seen a set recently on e-bay, but not so long ago a matched set of the large piece and mini, along with thumbnails and a bunch of other stuff from the Providence reunion went for around $200.00 (as I recall). I think this discouraged other sellers from putting up any other sets at this time.

I got a little static from one of you guys about my post. I'm having some e-mail troubles, so I'll just answer it in here.

I wasn't trying to mislead anyone. If you'll look at all my posts, I just mentioned price and value. I never said if I was buying or selling. Everyone assumed I was looking to buy I guess. I've just decided to concentrate more on the regular release LEs. This will help me pick up a few more.

Thanks for all the info, though.

Couldn't have been any clearer, Lou. A very simple question.

$185

(devalued by the Society version which is confusingly similar - like a Glow) the fact you don't see 'em for sale is noteworthy
