I don't know if anyone else noticed, but someone just posted 52 double digit Harbour Light Lighthouses on Ebay. What a find if someone were interested and could afford them. The starting prices are each lighthouse is $9.99.

I think you meant DOUBLE-DIGIT pieces, not single-digit ones...

John is absolutely correct. They are DOUBLE-DIGIT pieces. Another "Senior Moment." Post has been corrected.

I think the two-digit number that is posted is A log number for the sale, not the actual Harbour light number. It looks like most of them are three digit numbers.
Besides the Absecon New Jersey No.66 is my number.

I'll have to take a peek at those, for the "halibut". I've been in somewhat of a buying frenzy lately through private collectors and a few at eBay at super deals. I can't resist special flag#'s and rare pieces. I guess I'm also hoping to find more of my 4-digit all-the-same number pieces. So far I've managed to get #1111 and #2222. I did find another #2222 but didn't need a second one of that flag#.

Hmmm? The seller refers to them as "Great Lighthouses of the World" and signed by Kim Alexander. No boxes included and no flag#'s are visible in the photo. Did anyone else notice the same flag# doesn't appear twice? Do you think what you may have thought was a two-digit flag# may be just a numerical order of the pieces this seller is offering? I find it hard to believe one collector could have so many different two-digit Flag# pieces.

Let the buyer beware!

The Absecon New Jersey No.66 is listed as
no. 227--Great Lighthouses of the world.I think that the number 66 is the sellers log-in number and the 227 is the autual number.

All the ones I clicked into for this seller are listed as 'Great Lighthouses of the World".

However, take Absecon for instance. HL has issued two Absecons. One is a Limited Edition #277, and one is a LLOM, # 259. Neither # match the seller's description of #227.

Of course that could have been a "typo". But some others that I've checked on the "offering" are also not GLOWS...at least according to the numbering.

If you look at the seller's other items, he/she also has a few Kincade lights for sale. The HLs and Kincades both have the No. 1/2/3 etc. on them, and they are mixed together. Obviously, this seller:

a) Doesn't know the difference between a Harbour Light that looks like a real lighthouse and a Kincade that, while nice, is more decorative;

b) Knows nothing about HLs;

c) Doesn't know the "bring on the photos!" mentality of eBay buyers.

Of course, the bidding is also at the $9.99 starting bid on all of them. If you don't care about number or anything like that, this might be your chance for some cheap lights. eek

Here's some points to add to Greg & others-

The person listing is obviously not very knowledgeable on Harbour Lights and is misusing the term GLOW.

I believe that the two digit numbers are just a tracking method for the lister.

The main number used which is a 3 digit number coresponds to the model number is most cases or is transposed as in the Absecon case.

The seller is obviously one of these places that takes a number of items and sells it for someone on ebay for a commission.

I believe the seller is very forthcoming in their information- even if they are a bit off. The list them very well and consistently and include the information that no box is included but the COA is.

I would be very surprised if they did not respond to questions about any of the points we have brought up.

Has anybody taken the time to send any questions to the seller? I'm sure they would revise the listings or add the info if the mistakes were pointed out.

Well Folks,

In an effort to make ammends for my SINGLE versus DOUBLE-DIGIT topic and post, I wrote to the seller and noted the major point of contention - that being "What do those Numbers mean and what are the Flag Numbers?" I explained where the flag numbers are located. I'll post the answer as soon as I receve it.

Thanks for the follow-up, Bob. Knowing that autoships of extremely low numbers are extremely important to those who receive them, I just figured it would be next to impossible for one seller to have access to all those numbers.

Please keep us informed of what you find out.

Well folks,

No response yet from the seller relative to the DOUBLE DIGIT question. I'll keep y'all posted.

I'm new to the Forum, but a HL collector since "95".
After I found a dependable dealer I started getting duplicates with the hope that my son would take an interest. Didn't happen!
I now have a number of LEs and GLOWs that are excess to me. Almost all have a flag #90.
They are in their orginal boxes and have not been displayed.
Anyone know someone who might be interested?

Why don't you post a listing of the duplicates you want to sell? I'm sure you will get responses from forum participants who are looking to fill gaps in their collections.

Hi Wishigan, ...I would suggest you list them in the New Marketplace here at the Collector Forums. You must remember that most people that frequent the CF are connected collectors who are usually looking for rarer pieces. The fact the pieces you have for sale are 2-digit Flag#'s may draw some interest. Give it a try and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestions.
As soon as things settle down a littile on this end I'll get at it.
