I just took a quick look at Harbour Lights on eBay and noticed there weren't many items with bids. I was a bit curious so I counted the number of items that actually had bids. Out of 388 HL's being offered at eBay, only 46 of them had at least one bid. Things have certainly slowed down in a hurry.

Don't you suspect that this is a seasonal thing? People tapped out from Christmas spending? People traveling or busy with the Holidays?

Is it a good time to buy, Bob? confused

It will be interesting to watch the Ebay activity for a while. I don't buy from ebay but I do watch it to see what is selling. Not to be a bah humbug person but I think the interests in lighthouses has bottomed out and only serious buyers/collectors are left. The Forums is an example of this. I remember days when it used to get 500-600 visitors a day and now it looks like it's down to 100-150 a day. New people are still joining but are never posting except to sell on the Forum. Some of the blame for the dismal resale values should also go to overproduction and the infamous GLOWS but the real reason for slow sales is the interest/fad is gone and this only leaves the Wackos to continue to buy. I must say that Bob is doing his part. He's probably got 2 complete collections except for Coquille, Hatteras and a few others but the rest of us are normal Wackos. Just the thoughts of a person that is enjoying 17 days off from work.

Not on the subject of HL's but... Yesterday I went up to our local mall to buy my desk calendar for next year at the half price sale. It's a good thing I didn't wait any longer as they didn't have many left. But they did have lots of lighthouse calendars, both the weekly type and the wall type. Heck, I don't even want a lighthouse desk calendar anymore.

It sounds like you have a touch of the "Fresnel Flu", Sue. Take two visits to one of your local lights on the next nice day followed by one trip to your nearest HL Dealer and call me in the morning.
