I found out about HL's Web site from their literature obtained at Collectors' Paradise in Eagan, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis). If you're in the area, CP is run by some very nice folks, Brial and Baerbel McNally.

I didn't realize this wasn't a chat room. I am very new not only to this forum, but also the internet. A computer was recently given to my husband and I, and visiting topics that interest me led me to this forum. Thank you HL for the chance to meet others with an insatiable desire to collect history by the sea.

Welcome adrienne! We have weekly chats, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 9pm EST, 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 10pm, EST. Unless the month starts on a Thursday, then it's a little different. You are most welcome to join us. As you work your way throught the forums and the HL site you will learn a great deal.

Chats are live - the Forums are like a slow-motion chat. It has the advantage of putting comments and ideas in order.

Chats are kind of free-for-all with someone making a comment and four people making a response, not necessarily in consecutive order. After a while you can get the drift. There are 3-4 threads of conversation going on and you may have to carry on parallel thought streams.
